A few weeks ago I mentioned a friend's 98C that was milled to fit an Egrip. I know most people probably won't believe me on this one, but it's true. Here's some pics, and as soon as we put the Egrip in I'll put up a vid. Most of you will think it's fake, but this is real guys. The video will seal it. Pics:

As you can see in this one, it's milled for the solenoid, capacitator, board, and even has the guides for the pin. Also note the A5/Custom Pro sear and trigger schematics.

The two halves side by side.

I doubt this'll help much for all of you who doubt this, but here's a pic of the outside of the left half.
I know, I know I couldn't believe it at first either. It's truly one of a kind. For everyone who still doesn't believe, wait for the video. I'll say it once again:
This is not fake, all the pictures above are 100% real, so don't flame this thread

 Cool. I knew that someone would come up with a way to do it. Looks like it took some skill to do it so carefully.

No no no. I didn't mill it. Nobody touched it. It came like that, Tippmann did it. That's why it's so weird, it's got the inside of a Custom Pro but the outside a 98C.

Hmm... Thats strange. Maybe a manufacturing error??

Mabye all new 98s are coming like that?
That would be a really stupid move be Tippmann.

Why do you say that?
Actually if I was tippmann I'd discontinue the 98 and lower the price of the cp a bit.

not really. they would only have one type of 98c shells to produce and would encourage new 98c owners to buy e-kits. i fail to see the correlation between that and a stupid move.

I think it's just a maufacturing defect. Maybe it just got put on the wrong conveyor belt and whala... a Egrip compatable 98c. The odds of my buddy getting it though...

He definitely should consider himself fortunate. Lets wait and see if this was actually planned.

Yea he's definitely happy. How are we supposed to find out if it's planned?

Just to see if Tippmann is now making 98Cs this way.

No Briggs. I don't know if you remember him. Came with Onlees, curly hair, bad acne, rather large...

Thread revival. I just removed the grips on my 3 month old 98c and low and behold: e-grip milling.

So I guess you may as well buy a 98c and save a couple bucks.
edit: uploaded the same pic twice.

This is so weird. What year was your's made in? I think it's just the '05 models that have the milling. Tippmann has a bad habit of outdating themselves...

Hey seal sorry dont mean to go off topic but i wanted to ask about the sear. I got the same double trig (I never considered double trigs till now) as your friend does and im trying to make a lighter trigger pull (already changed trigger spring) and i was wondering if the spring pushing up against the sear was a made up idea for a lighter trigger pull or is it something required for the egrip? If it is for a lighter trigger pull is there any chance in the spring popping out of place?

It's an 05 Seal. I think they did just put the old 98c's in the "obsolete" bin.

Both of my reciever halves on my c98 have that exact milling, so i guess i got it too.

-_- its not my fault i joined in 05 :) But yes, i bought the 98c in June 2005, and the inside of my recievers are identical to seals friends pic, so i guess there making them e-grip compatible.
