Has anyone gone to the outdoor warpaint field (in west salem i belive)? Is it any good; better than their indoor "postage stamp" field? I was just wondering before i go there sometime. I also haven't tried WW yet. (there were closed when i should up) :(

ya i've played there quite a few times, i live about 5 min from there (im in west salem) its a decent field now, fun to play on and a decent set up. it is kind of . . . hmmm whats the word im looking for . . . non professional. it looks like a field that some guy just built on his property with random wood spools and boxes (thats what is actually). unlike weekend warriors which is a very professional looking field, the hyper ball field is great there. and the woods fields are much nicer than warpaints. its fun just to screw around there though . . . maybe i'll see ya up there some time.

It is hard to go with my group of people to go paintballing. myself and 2 others live in salem and the fourth lives in sublimity. Our group is handicapped as well and half can't drive. I have been harping on them to go to WW but they have all been to busy and don' t have a ride.
Isn't there going to be a scenario game at the outdoors warpaint in like april or something?
Oh yeah, is the outdoors WP the same prices as the indoor one?
Thanx for the reply. (Yea!! it is snowing!!! Hope it snows a ton and no school tomorrow:D

uhhhh tomorrow is sunday man, LOL. what school do you go to? (what grade too)?
the prices are $15 for entry BYOP (bring your own paint) and $1 per 1000 psi of HPA, not sure on co2 prices . . . do you need to rent your gear? if so its $25 for everything (gun, mask, co2, entry).
and ya there is a big game in april (i think its in april) i have gone to the past 2 and the one that is april is awesome! its alot bigger than the one in october (or when ever it was, i forgot) it was a blast though, im probably gonna go to the next one too.
where do you live in salem? how old are you?

I want to go to the scenario game. I am trying to get one of my buddies to go with me. I hope i can go because it is on a sunday and we have church and i have to run the sound board. Yah, i have my own gear (spyder xtra. looking into going into electric gun though. My dad is getting a 'cocker so i thought a little variety would be nice.)
BYOP?? Ya!!!!! I am tired of paying $8 for 100 at warpaint indoor.
I'll have totell my friends.
I go to McNary and am a junior. I is 16. just really playing paintball about november. I suck, but that is okay. i don't plan on winning, i plan on playing.

My dad doens't really play. He has gone once and didn't enjoy because he had a rental pump gun that doubled as a spray can. Since he had a nice job, he was going to get it. Money is short so i hope he gets it soon because when he doesn't use it, it is mine:D
What does your dad and bro have? how long have you guys played. Haven't heard about the school but it sounds small.
VeNoM
01-26-2002, 07:29 PM
ya its small, one junior class (about 45 kids or so) . . . its a small school so it gets real annoying easily . . . but anyway, we have been playing about a year and a half. my dads set up is a blue shutter, 14" cp, 12v blue revy, and 20 oz co2. my bro uses a viper m1 (military package) pretty nice gun actually . . . they arent real in to the tournament type guns and players, they just like to have fun. i have a bushy now (as if you didnt notice . . . ) but i am trading it next week for a nice 99 STO (chrome hinge frame, blue gen-x reg, OTP g3 barrel with all inserts, and kapp twisted cocking rod) im gonna put my drop, tank and ricochet on it, cant wait to test it out . . .

STO cocker sounds sweeeeet! So you finally sold your bushie? I used to be in a small school when i was in 6th grade. Man it sucked. Everyone knew everyone else. The only thing good about small schoools is that gossip spreads like wild fire. Used to start a rumor at about 9:00am and by 1:30 (half way into math) one of the girls would burst out crying. We would stop class to help little susie. After about 30 mins of talking to the kids in the class, my name is mentioned last. By then, school is out and no interegation. Ahhhhh, the good ol' days. Sorry 'bout the flash backs.
Have you gone to any tournies before and are they all they are cracked up to be?

LMAO!! you just explained my school exactly hahaha. ya its pretty ghey . . . but anyway, i haven't played in any tourneys yet (probably wont until i get a job) i dont have the money or a team for it. i have been offered to join a team but i didnt have a car or money to do so . . . i have watched alot of tourneys though, i went to seatle this past season to watch the pan am tourney (acutally it was in port orchard) they are much more serious and more of a thinking game, i would love the get into some by this summer . . .

Ya, i need a job too. And a car. This semester i hopefully have a little time so i can work. My dad "encourages" me to have a few honors classes and it sucks up tons of time. (About the same for most people) For my group, we are so beat up. One of the group was electrocuted at work and has a weak heart and blacks out enough not to drive, i can't drive, and my youth paster just got his liscences back because he was having seizures. The other one is in perfect health and can drive, so we haven't been able to play much.
I go w/ my cousin sometimes, but he isn't really hyped about playing and works all the time. His mom just let him buy my stingray II and he is 18.
How often do you and your family play?
VeNoM
01-26-2002, 08:33 PM
well i dont have a job so its usually my dad or bro paying for us ( i pay every once in a while though) but with 3 guys it adds up quick when 1 person has to pay for it all so we dont get to play all that often . . . usually about once a month, sometimes more. when i get a job i plan on playing at least twice a month . . . how bout you?
do you have your permit yet? i have my permit and can drive with my mom, dad, sister and brother but i dont have my liscense yet.
Gibralter
01-26-2002, 08:59 PM
I use to go about once a month but the last time i have gone was the 1st of Jan. I miss it baddddddd. I also have my permit, but hopefully getting my liscence soon. With the new law, you have to have like 50 hours and then you can take a driver course at DMV or a bunch of other things. One was drive another 50 hours. I was at like 83 hours (mom won't let me make up time, so for me it is actual time  ) Then my pa got a new truck and didn't trust me to drive. This was in early oct. i believe. He just now let me start to drive again. I hope to have it befor the scenario game in april (my goal).
I can only drive with mom and dad. Have sister but she is 13. She is the  and
VeNoM
01-26-2002, 09:03 PM
hehehe . . . thats cool, ya i dont have that many hours, and the drivers ed courses just started (my friend is taking it) so i missed that and i dont want to wait til next year for it, so i will end up getting my liscense with out it (hopefully) but i think my parents are just gonna make up the hours and say i drove that much, i drive good enough i think
what else do you do? what kind of music do you like?
Gibralter
01-26-2002, 09:09 PM
I like of few of the bands sounds that are out right now. (don't know names listen on radio sometimes). Mostly i listen to christian music. Some good ones are five iron frenzy, newsboys, and hangnail. There are other, but all i could think of. Some other hobbies are that my dad and i scuba dive. for awhile, we went all the time. but i got this cold that lasted awhile, and couldn't go (kinda hard to explain; take alot o' time). I then picked up on this sport. I used to play football. I was guard and center for o' and nose guard for d', but left because of some polotics(whoever you spell it). And of course school :P
What do you do?
VeNoM
01-26-2002, 09:19 PM
ahh i c . . . i hang out with my friends, listen music and spend alot (most) of my time that i have at home on this forum . . . i listen to mostly rap but i like some classic rock and some alternative too . . .
Gibralter
01-26-2002, 09:28 PM
Ya, i spend alot of time on pbreview. don't hang with many friends (probably cuz i have none) i am content to oil paintball gun, and shoot it. (of course can't shoot to much in city limits. Neighbors might report me and it is a class c felony). I listen to some rap. The funniest thing is some of the christian rap artists (if you can call it rap). Manly why i don't listen to alot of diff music is cuz my ma is very attentive to my habits and things i am doing. She'll come into the library and say that she missed me when all she is doing i looking at what show on TV i am watching. I'll mess with her by changing the channel real quick when she comes in. Your parents ever go crazy over the wierdest or dumb things?
Mine do.
VeNoM
01-26-2002, 09:32 PM
nah not really, hehe. my dad used to tell me not to listen to rap when i was younger (like in 2nd grade) because it was violent and cussed alot, but i just kept doing it anyway then after a while he just stopped telling me not to, hehe. they dont really get mad or anything about too much, not real attentive . . . its good stuff :)
Gibralter
01-26-2002, 09:42 PM
Thats cool. My mom doesn't even like it when those ads for like '80s music comes on tv. She's like 'mute it please'. So for a few weeks, i messed with her big time. one day i brought home a rap cd. I played it alot and they heard it. Then a few days later, i brought home classical music. Again played long and loud. Then jazz, then sound track to braveheart. Final i blew her circuits and now she mainly leaves me alone in the music department. She still is cool though.
You think that is bad, we have this thing on our tv called TVG and it is supposed to edit out bad words. it suxxx, because you miss the sentence before the word and after. and it works like half the time and bleeps out stupid words like "cock-a-doodle-do" How ghey is that:rolleyes:
Oh well, they are still cool.:P

i got it about september, and i was very happy with it, its probably one of the most comfortable guns i have ever held and played with (great for snap shooting) and i was very happy with its reliability until last time i played at warpaints outdoor field and it took a poop on me . . . it was a great gun, but i am ready to move on now. i went through ALOT of paint with it too, i took a case to the last big game and ran out before the day was over. i think i would prefer a cocker more, so im gonna try it, eventually if i get an electro again it will be an angel or timmi.

i got the bushy this past september, i bought it used . . . i should be getting the STO by this weekend (we are sending out our guns on tuesday) impulses are cool, but i dont like the stock triggers at all (ewww :| ) i wasnt all that impressed, but for $400 its not too bad . . . i would get a blade trigger on it though.

01-27-2002, 08:38 PM
they have a huge hyperball field (10 man) a small airball field (like 3 man size) and 2 decent sized woods fields . . . great field IMO, better run and better prices than warpaint, but it is FPO. though they dont charge too much for paint, so its ok. they also have 4500 psi fills, so i like that, the only place i know of that has 4500 psi fills . . . gene is a great guy, always glad to help.

That is a cool cocker but you really know what counts? The player behind it. Unfortunatly most people with Angels I see arn't that good! Coincidence? I think Not! Angels are cool but are to hyped. For $1,000 or however much cool ones cost these days you can get an Evaloution Autococker which frankly kicks Angels buts. One time I heard a guy say Accuracy by valume and sure enough the kid is painting bunkers. So then my response is how about an Acurate valume. I just moved one bunker to my right which was unoccupide and sent some quick snap shots to get him back in to his bunker. Then held a beed on him and gogged him. Although its not an exact valume as in a lot the amount of shots I did shoot were usefull. A big tip or thing to learn is how to make shots count. You can really tell if your doing this if when you look at your hopper you realize it is fuller than you thought it was. You see when you are waisting shots you dont really notice it your fireing blindly or because you think someone is there. You look down and then you are reloading. When your shots count you get caught up in it and when you expect to be low your not. I dont know but thats how it works with me. I love knowing that im not wasting paint. I have played big rec games where I lived to the end and still had a few balls dangiling in my hopper but with full tubes. That is how paintball should be played and thats how you know that you are becoming a good player. I have a bunch more stuff like that but you know dont want to make this message any longer than it already is.
I co-bought my Mercades and pay $185 every 6 months for insurance. If I get good grades my parents help me out and so on. I live far away though dude so I probably cant help you with rides. I live in Kirkland near seattle.
I have a Tribal that works like an Angel and they are good for front playing but nothin beats a cocker. Its to easy for me to pull fast enough and helps with the Shots Counting aspect. Not to mention it is the most accurate paintball gun.
Now were you get that Magic Benz with them windows tinit... (Luticris song only like it because it is a coll driving song)

ya i know what ya mean . . . it was very easy to go through alot of paint with my old bushy, i remember the second time i played with it (i was used to the trigger, so i was getting a good 11-12 bps out of it) and i went through so much paint it wasnt even funny. i had a case for the day (i usually only use a half case for the day) and i ran out of paint before the end of the day. but ya, i know how to play (somewhat, hehe) and im not a bad player. . . and ya i knew i wasn't gonna get rides, i was kidding, hehe. thats cool that you live in kirkland, 2 of my friends (they are borthers) have a good friend that lives there and they visit there in the summer and they say its awesome there . . . i think my new gun is a good median for me since its not too fast, but it is fast enough, and its a little more accurate than my bushy. . . ya tribals are nice, a local friend near me does alot of great custom work on those and he has an AWESOME one, the trigger on it is better than a stock angel trigger (about equivelant to nice angel triggers) . . . i dunno the whole angel/cocker thing is preference, i like both. i have a cocker now, but by the end of this summer i think i will probably have an angel . . .
KallenP
02-13-2002, 09:12 PM
Yea well alls I can say is one shoots fast and runs good(Angel) And one is Accurate and shoots fast, runs good with occasional glitches(Autococker) It is somewhat preference I agree. An Angel shouldn't be bought for ooohs and ahhhs because everyone has seen one so it wont do that. The only oooohs and aaahs I get are when people see a 210 lb man running up and slidding into a 50 yd bunker then taking out there middle and proceeding on the rest.(some of my greater moments) I just like cockers because in the end I can shoot just as fast and they are accurate as hell. Only drawback is that used Autocockers wear down and so they become less accurate but are still accurate none the less. Do you play mostly front or where. Do you like it? Why? What problems have you been having lately or what do you need to work on?

Warpaint has changed over on Mondays to bring your own paint. The field(if that is what it is called) fee, is $15 and that is it. Apperantly there has been some pretty good competition. I hear that they might change the Congo area around too. They are also going to have a new thing, were you fire little nerf like balls the shape of a paintball, and hits the special vest that you wear, and it records it as a hit and you keep on playing. However has the least number of hits wins after like 10 mins or so. Sounds interesting. Thought you guys might like to know.

And the mud.. I'm tempted to wear soccer cleats. Personally, my family owns about 20 acres out in South Salem, and occationally my friends and I will go out there and play... either in the dense woods or fields (we actually have a number of portable barricades, oil barrels, tires.. stuff like that. Beats playing indoor and only costs for the paint and CO2.

The place is less than a mile from Sprague High School, off Skyline Road. Planning a few days of PB out there during spring break. I'll have to cover ground to see how many extras can come because the land is on a farm owned by my grandparents. They've never had a problem when I've brought out a good amount of people before (10 - 12) so if I had a few people join up it shouldn't be a problem - just couldn't have the whole town show up. May have to sign some sort of legal contract or whatnot for liability purposes. I don't really care, but my gparents think somebody's gonna get hurt and don't want to get in trouble.
I think it'd be great to have a few guys out there! Most of the guys that go with me are old high school friends, most have Spyders or Tippmanns, so if you have like a Angel or Bushmaster don't beat or asses too hard ;).
Something I failed to mention earlier was "The shack." It's an old two story house/storage sort of building that is pretty much completely empty. It'd pretty damn old, so when you're on the second story you have to be careful where you step... but it works. We put a few people on the inside and the rest on the outside. Place flag hanging from branch directly infront of house. You get the rest :) Pretty crazy stuff!

Did you say you lived in West Salem? So you'd go to... South or North.. you have the choice because West Salem High School isn't opened yet. Did you know they made the mascot of West Salem High the Titans after the movie 'Remember the Titans?' lol cracks me up. My younger bro has an ACI F4 Illustrator, and is a soph at Sprague, he'd be there too, mostly people who are seniors at Sprague right now, or graduated last year. Cool beans though ;)

I went to Sprague, graduated last year, going to Western Oregon University now.. in Monmouth.. which is about 15 - 20 min from Salem. I think I've heard about 21st Century but I really don't know anything about it.
Where was that guy Gibralter from?

That mud inside sucks so bad
The hand on the wall
The walls are so nasty; they never wash them.

And to think that hand on the wall story happened like three years ago.. I've played mostly outdoors since then.. the walls must be absolutly disgusting by now.
*remembers first paintball experience at Warpaint*
... pinned down below a window in the western cowboy area, people to the left and the right. I tried to fight them off but I was the last one alive. The first 15 paintballs that hit me didn't break, kinda hurt.

On time I was leaning on a wall and i got back, and i covered on the side with paint. Many other have the same thing. You would be cleaner lying on the floor.

The one think I do like about Warpaint is the employees. One of the younger guys that works there (forget his name) that chews tobacco always looks at my gun if it has problems for free.. they're supposed to charge just to look at the gun.

well i have mixxed feelings about the employees, some are very helpful (it may be the same guy you are thinking of, though i havent seen him there in a while) while others do not help me out at all and they make me feel as though i am bothering them and they don't know much about paintball . . . vince has a tendency to do this to, sometimes he is great, very helpful and fun. other times he wont even bother to help me much and gives me attitude, and i would expect to be treated better considering i have spent a good $1000 at his shop and fields.

The guy that chews is Cole. He is pretty cool sometimes. Other times, he is a pain and/or with a hang over.
A real turn off to buying at warpaint is the prices, and some of the staff. Ive been in several times, mostly with adults, and vince treats me ok. If i walk in by myself, its like i don't exist. The only thing that i buy there is the paint, and then sneak it into the staging area with it even though it isn't "field paint"

My dad went to the store during a break or something. He said that it had a few things. A few markers, some masks, and a few boxes of paint. I don't know how long he was there. What kinda paint do they sell there?

If you guys at R&R open a field, I will definatly come. Hell, I'd even be willing to give some Salem guys a ride.. I'm guessing it'll be outdoor?
