Go with the Refurb Imagine from ActionVillage instead.

It's probably better for him to go with the Vexor Eye, as it will be far simpler for a newbie. The Imagine is better for someone who has more intimate knowledge of paintball guns.
And don't buy a bolt that doesn't have grooves for o-rings, a bolt without o-rings will never have as good a seal as one with o-rings, and a bolt without a good seal if far more prone to blowback (gas escaping up the feedneck, which can cause paintballs to be chopped).
Also, don't forget a mask, and make it a good one, a good mask will last forever.
EDIT: I forgot to mention this, but your knowledge of what is necessary for paintball is excellent for a newbie.

I also forgot to add that if you do happen to know your way around the inside of a paintball gun the Imagine can be a better deal, if you decide to install a T-board with eyes, which is an electronic board that can be swapped out with a stock Spyder board, it allows it to fire faster and is generally better, eyes are a laser and a detector which check to see if there is a paintball in the breech, and stop the gun from firing if there isn't.
The Vexor eye already has this capability, but if you desire to you can probably upgrade the Vexor's stock board with a T-board as well.

Yes it is. The vexor eye is a great marker for anyone not into tourneys. Although the vexor line up is extremely good, no matter how many upgrades you get will make it a good enough tourney gun. Also, ..!..('_')..!..,he already has that set up, i think. He says is my set up.......? that means he already has one. To answer you question simply, yes, the setup that you have is an excellent setup for a novice/intermediate player.

Yes your marker will be fine. It may not be tournament level but for the first few tournaments you will be fine with an eletro blowback. The tboard doesn't use lazer eyes it uses ir sensors. You would be just as good with a vexor as you would with a spyder. Also for you upgrades I would skip getting a new bolt. Save your money. First get a barrel I would suggest a custom Products one piece or a JJ Ceramic. Get between 12 and 16 inches and don't forgot that longet length doesn't mean better distance or better accuracy so don't just get the longest barrel you can find. Then I would get HPA (crossfire is a good brand 4500psi and 45ci or 68ci and get a high pressure output tank if you need more help on this look in the air systems or you can pm me), A nice hopper like a VL Evolution II, HAlo b, or Reloadre B. Next I would suggest a good reg the bl torp is good you may also want to look into: AKA 2 Liter, AKA Sidewinder, MacDev Gladiator, Custom Products Grip Reg.
With the last three upgrades (regulator, hopper, and hpa tank) will be able to be transferred to 90% of todays markers (maybe more I am not sure). So when/if you do ungrade to a new marker you aren't starting completly stock again you have a few ups to put on the new marker right away.

You don't need one of those high end hoppers for a gun that has eyes. Dynasty uses reloaders with vision or eyes and revvys, because they know that the eyes will stop chopping, not faster bps hoppers. The blow back from the guns with chop the guns, and eyes stop that forever. Everything else you said was pretty good though.

Wrong. An E-loader of any nature is a good idea for any gun. The Egg would be especially beneficial because it would negate blowback in the feedneck.
Eyes are gret when your loader can't keep up to prevent chops, but if your loader can't keep up and the eyes kick in, then you're not going to be firing when you could be firing if you had a nicer loader. When you pull the trigger, you want a ball to exit the barrel. A gravity loader simply will not do the job for any kind of electronic gun period.
Would you rather havea gun that only fires half the time but never chops, or a gun that fires 95% of the time and never chops.
E-loader of some kind would be strongly reccomended, and if you went ahead and bought the Egg now, if you ever moved to a higher end gun, you won't have to buy a new loader.

You must of misunderstood me. I know having an electronic loader is very beneficial when firing high rates of fire, but if you have lower speed hopper on a higher rof marker, it will chop unless it has eyes. Don't get me wrong, electronic loaders will cut down on chopping rather than a vl200 or app240, but a reloader on an angel is hard to get the speed you want because the 20+ bps is feeds will out shoot the reloader, that is why you need eyes on when you have that rof on that low end bps feeder. See what i mean now?
That is why dynasty had shockers and a couple angel, with eyes, and they use revvys and reloaders, they know balls wont chop because the eyes on the shockers and revvys. Although most of the time they use their halos and empires, they use the lower end and eyes for practice, and sometimes in games.
