I was thinking today about making a semi-automatic MARKER into a full-automatic one. I know it probably won't work that well, but it's worth a shot..

Here's my idea...

If you take your trigger frame off and look at the sear, it has a little open area where the hammer pulls back the sear and when you pull the trigger, it releases the sear and the sear moves to it's original spot....

What if I were to slide the sear forward and plug up the small hole in the back of the sear? This should release the hammer and bolt and should continue to cycle through it's firing mode in full-auto until the trigger is let off..

THIS WOULD HAVE PROBLEMS SUCH AS:

CHOPPED BALLS (UNLESS YOU HAVE AN MOTORIZED HOPPER)
FREEZING OF YOUR MARKER QUICKER...

What do you guys think of my idea?

Basically how the Tippmann F/A functioned.

They froze ALOT but being a Tippmann, they kept firing anyways. Heh

It wouldn't really work, since gravity wouldn't feed the balls quick enough in the very very short time the bolt is in the back position

You would have to find a way to slow down the bolt to keep it from chopping up your paintballs. I saw the schematics for the tippmann F/A Das was talking about in the Tippman forum. Maybe you could get ideas from that.

That's the F/A alright. A modified one, it looks like.

Actually, I tried this exact same thing with my spyder once. Much to my amazement, it didn't chop at all. The balls didn't load fast enough to chop. It just kept scrapping the bottom of the ball and never allowed it to drop. I haven't actully done the physics, but if it cycles 30 times a second, then the ball only drops like half a millimeter or less between the bolt being fully opened, and it starting to close again.

I've tried looking at the picture, but I can't really find out what I'm looking for. I haven't really seen a tippmann taken apart.

I am used to the spyders, rebels, and pirhana's...Easy stuff like that....
