I hear almost everyone saying how there trigger pull is as short as a hair or " i can sneeze on my trigger and it will fire." I don't know how anyone gets there blade that short. I set the top set screw to just before it gets into the " too far place " and i set my middle set screw not to close to the frame ( i like a little play in the trigger after i fire) and i still have to pull my trigger a little to fire it, where as this guy at my field has it to where you put your fingure on the trigger and it fires. How does he get it like that? The spring tension or am i just doing something wrong?
Thanks ( sorry for the long post )

We modded out the microswitch and changed the point where the grip attached so that we could get the microswitch to "click" with out all the travel. To be honest, the mod on the switch happened because it was broken from the factory so I reversed it (hard to explain) and rebent it. For some reason this keeps a little more tension and snap to the switch. Then we dialed it way in, I mean piece of paper thickness is all the trigger takes and then farted with the spring tension.
At first I though tight spring, way to go. Tried the oppisite and found out that "WAS THE WAY TO GO"!!! I mean, goto John Kirwans review of his imp (this is the one I did it to) under just stock impulse in the reviews, it talks about how fast his is. 15+ a second, easy. Thats how we did it, I mean his gun full-auto's just with the recoil if you keep your finger in the right spot, I mean, it WAY OUT SHOOTS MY ANGEL FLY LCD!!!

Oh by the way, his is like that cause he adjusted his to that point, it just sounds like you've set yours fairly conservative.
OK we are talking about 2 things here.
The lenght of pull and the tension (weight of pull)
If you havn't already, thake the grip off the frame and remove the allen head screw behind the trigger. This will allow you spring to come out. We have found that its safe to remove 4 coild of the spring. just take some wire cuters and snip them off. put the spring back in with the **** end UP. use a little blue loctite on the allen screw when you put it back in. Screw it in just far enought to be flush with the top of the frame-- test the pull. You should find it very soft. Too soft for most peoples taste. just adjust the the allen screw until you get a pull you like.
after you reassemble the gun, you are ready to adjust he pull. remember to put blue loctite on the set screws. adjust the vertical set screw so the solnoid fires at the very first part of the pull. now adjust the horzonal set screw until the it stops just after the gun fires.-- now you have a very short very light trigger. You will most likly find that you can shoot faster if you let the trigger travel a little futher after the "fire" point- but thats personal taste

I personally can't stand no length triggers, i like it short, but these guys are just trying to sound smart, it's hard to shoot fast at all with triggers that short and tension that small.

OK, this is how i got my shorter trigger pull. I took a 1/8in thick piece of industrial strength plastic. then i cut it in an upsidedown L shape. i made the verticle part that goes behind the trigger short enough so there was about a mouse click of slack after the firering point. Then i made the top part that goes off to the side (this part goes under the trigger where it enter the frame) thin enough so it shortened the pull to the fireing position about a mouse click. So my trigger is about the length of two mouse clicks. Hope this is making sense. then i took the sticky grips off and well...used electricle tape to hold the spacer in place. then i put the grips back on. This way, if i ever have trouble with my gun, and need to send it back to Smart Parts, I can take the spacer out and the trigger will be normal. Thus not voiding the warranty. It sounds like it took a lot of work, but i did it in about 10 min. Plus it saves me $30+ for an adjustable trigger until i can actually aford it.
