for all you genesis fans...

We had a customer come in wanting to change the look of his BE paintball marker to end all the criticism. We dont have access to a professional anno company here in Hawaii, but Powercoating is an option, and is cheaper. Here is a pic of what the gun looked like as it came to us.

The "after pic is the same gun, except we added a Kingman Spyder shutter fore grip, macro line, and a Lapco Drop Forward.

any aluminum part on any gun can be coated. but i think you might want to do it locally in your area. I live in hawaii, and shipping will either be expensive, or cheap, but take at least 5 days to get to you via usps.

im not sure how much it costs on the mainland, but here in Hawaii, we send the guns out to a local powercoating company and the cost is $50, with a life time warranty.

Well shiznizat! That's pretty good! Can you get designs done or just solid color?

I'm pretty sure it's just one solid color, but you are not just limited to your basic colors, you can do anything from pastels to pewter or gun metal grey. it just depends on what your power coating professional can do for you. I'm am not certain, but I think splash, acid wash, and fades are out of the question with power coating, but im not too sure on that. Im not an expert with this power coating stuff.

I know out here in colorado I used to have parts for my drag cars custom ano'd and powder coated.
For an aluminium valve cover(roughly same surface area as a paintball gun) powder coating was around $60, anodizing was around 40.
I was generally also getting the stuff coated for hi temp and having some other stuff done so chances are you could get it done cheaper.
Hope this helps,

OH, an you can have splashes and that kinda stuff done, its just ungodly expensive and time consuming.
Powdercoating process is basically like this:
1. Object is stripped to bare metal and deburred
2. Object is positively charged and the coating(currently dust form) is negatively charged so the coating will adhere.
3. Coating is brushed on to the object to be coated.
4. Object is baked in a kiln, baking the finish into the metal.
5. Object is cooled and the finish is coated to seal it.
6. Object is rebaked and considered done

For multiple color finishes like a splash, the area that is desired to be done in a diff color etc is beadblasted before the sealer and rebaking, and is recoated in the desired color and then follow the rest of the steps.
It gets expensive cause it is precision blasting and coating to just hit those certain parts and overall not worth the extra effort.
Just from experience, I would go with powdercoating as opposed to anodizing, just becuase powdercoating can take INSANE ammounts of abuse with no damage, where as anodizing will wear off as its more like an electroplating.
Feel one of the black basic cockers, thats a powdercoat.
It can be done to a smooth finish, but another option is to find a piece of powdercoated metal and a piece of anodized metal. Hit em with some sand paper and see how many more days it takes to get through the powdercoat hehe.

sounds like a time consuming process to do a multi color project, i can see why it would be so expensive.

Autococker being power coated? Actually they are anno'd it's called a matte finish. anno is much stronger then power coating because the color is actually apart of the metal, powder coating is actually a coating on top of the metal.

Thats gotta be the hardest ano'd finish known to man then.
A buddy of mine works with lazer engraving, he's done some stuff for me already, was going to have some stuff engraved in the cocker and the engraver couldn't get through the cocker finish.
I've had him to some stuff in the past(Rat Power on a pair of big block valve covers) on aluminium that was anodized, ceramic coated, and sealed w/o a prob.
Looks like a powdercoat to me bro.
