I am still in the search for a new marker and I have come down to three- cocker, impy, em1 (maybe mag) I just had a few questions about impys- Is there 2 styles, old and new? Which ones come with the "eye" anti chop device? Is it the progressive barrel they come with? And finally, would you recomend it? Thanks for the time and help :)

Yes there is a newer and older style Impulse. You should be able to get the Impulse your looking for in either one. I'd suggest the newer modle. The Maxflow regulator on the newer ones looks trick.
All Impulses should come with the Progressive barrel standard.
I use 32 Deg. balls and have had great luck with them, or try Big Balls.
For the amount of money your going to spend on the Vision, I'd go with the standard Impulse and put on a couple of upgrades. Unless you can get a killer deal on it.

You would probably have to get the old style used, if you get a new one it should be the new style. Neither one is more expensive.

if you decide on an imp get it from www.e-paintballoutlet.com, they have great service and are known for their knowledge of impys

How much money do you want to spend, we can help you pick the right gun setup (again, make sure to post the same message on all your gun choices' forums, so you get the answer from all people). We are very biased here, just because Imp is a wonderful gun for us. So everyone will tell you in one voice to get an Imp heh

Prices are as follows:
M.S.R.P. Impulse = $499.00
However in shops I've seen them from $450.00 / $575.00
Price may go up or down if the marker comes with the forward grip on it or not.
Vision = $649.00
You might be able to get a good deal on line somewhere, if you check around. Good Luck!

For an imp i was looking mostly for used, to keep the costs down. Maybe 360 for the old style and used. I really want one but the new ones are pricey, but i am sure i would get what i am paying for. I will check out e-paintballoutlet too. Thanks for the info! :)

Regular Imp (bottom MaxFlow reg) is $400 and the vertical reg is $450. So you are almost there. Playing with a stock Imp is not a problem at all actually. But a few upgrades (~$150) would increase the performance greatly. Upgrades such as trigger, VFF and the bolt should be made first. Good luck, let us know what you decide on.
