ya it does sound kind of funny. But its worth over a grand and we might not have an airball field to play on for a while b/c of that.

Yah, but at least the season is almost over...well, here it is anyways. Got one last tourny left.

an airball field being stolen, eh? That seems like a difficult task...

Anyways, I would call all fields/proshops within 50-75 miles and report it just in case these ppl try to sell it. Or even if they use it themselves, someone at the proshops might hear about it.

how did you mannage to get it stolen in the first place?

well its not my field. its the field i play at. and the owners are really nice, so i hate to see that they had their field stolen. Basically, they know that it was more than one person, b/c alot of those bunkers had a little bit of water in em, and they were pretty heavy. you can see the tire tracks where they drove up to the field and backed in between where the two entrances are closed off, and they took them.

if the tire tracks are detailed, they need to file a police report quick. Most tires have unique tread designs, and the police can match them to a specific tire. From there, all you have to do is match sale records, and narrow the search... Sounds farfetched, but it IS a possibility.

EDIT: I guess I was assuming tracks left in some sort of hardened mud. If I'm mistaken, disregard this post. :P

You know, I'm with you on that one.

I'm imagining a bunch of people carrying off the course like ants in a cartoon carrying food away from a picnic...

That really sucks though. You have my condolences.

This is why I'm thankful our field has a security guard at night. I really hope you do find the field or some of the bunkers at least. My condolences.

I've heard of markers, masks, tanks, and packs being stolen...but a field's worth of airball bunkers? :eyes:

Hope they turn up soon, man.

when we went to play sunday and the owner told me and my friends were like, "somebody what?!". The field isn't locked up when it closes, it pretty much just sits there. powerline is out in the backwoods part of my county and the airball field has been just out in the open for at least a year.

look at micah trying to be all CSI and ish. hahah:laugh:

why anybody would STEAL a field is beyond me, but like someone said up there, report it first with the police, and next with local fields and stores just in case they hear anything. good luck to you and your field owner in finding the bunkers.

I'm not sure what type of setting you live in, urban, boonies, etc...but I think if you let the police know, when they send a helicopter to do it's patrols it will see it from above. Hope they get it back, that's scanless.

Feel better knowing the people who stole it are poor since they can't afford to pay to play paintball at a field. Their lives are pretty wak and they don't have alot of the stuff that they want. They are so poor, they'd rather risk going to jail for a few years instead of getting a job and paying to play paintball.

i live in a suburb setting, with a bunch of boonies surrounding it, and powerline is in the backwoods half of town. the police were called on sunday when they found it was stolen. i hope those idiots pay for stealing it.

Yeah, I should start a "CSI: Open Seas". I can be a pirate crime scene investigator... "Yore undr arest ther matey, AARRGGGG!!! " :pirate:

Back on topic: I would do some investigating myself too, if I were you. Add any helpful info you can. In my experience, the polic aren't the most helpful in investigations.

idk. as long as i've been playing there i've never noticed/seen them put the field up. its always been in the same spot. Right now, the only option for any form of speedball is their hyperball course, which is a pretty nice field.

powerline only sets up the air ball field, when there is alot of people there. And because of that, it hasn't been up in a while. For some odd reason the summer months are kind of slow. I think its because parents are paranoid of their kids finding a snake or something in the woods.

when its not set up what do they do? just leave the air bags on the side of the field? why not lock them up?

Yes the field was stolen! The owner of Powerline Paintball for the most part takes down the field everyday before they close. But as most of you know most field owners have more than just the job of owning a field. So sometimes it gets a little hard to put the field up and take it down every week so on occasions they left it up when they knew players would be showing up the next weekend for sure. The owner of Powerline Paintball is a very nice man and has done nothing but help the players at his field in becoming not only better players, but better people as well. I have never been to more professionally ran small field than this one.

The field consists of 19 bunkers most are Red/Yellow and have seen a lot of use, a lot of the bungee straps have been ripped off and replaced multiple times, and the bunkers have a lot of patches. They are really stained from paint being baked on there from the hot VA summer sun. The field was always locked up when not in use.

Drunken Monkey, I understand that you are trying to get the word out that the field has been stolen, but there is really no reason to clutter this thread with responses to people asking some stupid questions. If they have viable information on the field then take it and drive on. Just some advice.
