I've heard so many terrible things about how this causes the Griffin to chop paint like mad! I've been given my friends Griffin to be upgraded and I might try experimenting with some Autococker 3-way hose to replace the spring and remedy the problem, ill let you know how it works! I've had a Griffin myself but contributed the ball breaks to the VERY cold weather and the fact that it was crappy paint. Any other ideas?

I had the same problem...either its..
1. Crappy Paint...Griffins don't seem to like Viewloader, BE, 32 Degrees Paint...They love Big Balls, and RPS and dont seem to mind that sheridan impact stuff...
2. Extremely Cold or Hot Humid weather...Balls swell you know
3. The O-ring on the bolt is worn out...this is what happened to me after I literally sprayed my brother from 10 feet away with 5 chopped balls i had to field strip my gun (after i was shot out of course) and the front o-ring on the bolt was cut in half...it wasn't the ball detent spring even though you might want to look into tightening it up a little;) but if its the o ring, simply replace it with a regular o-ring that comes with the gun no biggy...
