why does everyone ask this damn question??? I'm sick of "how can I be a mod" threads.... they suck!!!!(am I talking about the mods or the threads? you decide)....... but anyway yeah dude I doubt you will become a mod... most of the mods are frequent posters and know a lot about the topic of their thread..... well at least that what it seems like to me.

if it's anything like the other forums I visit (and actualy am a mod at in one)...

Be respectful, helpful, and generaly available. Then wait for someone to resign and list you as a potential replacement.

However, if that doesn't seem to be you thing, you could try sending the Admin a signed, blank check. If it clears the bank, you might get mod status. :D

I've been making fun of Das in the chat, he seems to be wearing a little. He seems to like goats a lot which also disturbs me :)

That's not going to help win you over in any mod's hearts.

Why would anyone want to be a mod anyway? I think I might abuse the responsibilty, and only moderate deviating positions. Anyway, if power is your thing, you have to coerce it from people. Power is not given, it can only be achieved by force, coercion or diplomacy. (and diplomacy only works if you already have power over them, or they have more power than they can safely handle.)

Lemme tell you something, arguing, flaming, cynicism and an endless supply of sarcasm are NOT the way to get into a moderator position. I mean, just look at me, I was... oh crap wait. How the hell did I get this job?


In all honesty, at the moment, we aren't looking for moderators, and I'm not entirely sure how we pick em, we just pick people we think are good posters, helpful, and enjoyable to hear from. When we need em, then we'll go looking

Actually one day I just got PM from Andrew (our old administrator) asking me if I wanted to be a mod, and the rest is pretty much history. But Twichos right, the mod squad is pretty much complete right now. In fact we even have legends coming out of retirement to Mod again.

I couldn't be a mod because I have a life, plus I am not a speedball player, which seems to be a prereqisite, and I just don't have it in me to kiss the required amount of mod a** it would take to get the position. :)

b) I don't play hardly any speedball

OMG, this is so off topic, and at least four mods have responded and not noticed that it's off topic, therefore, as the high ruler of Offtopicopia, I must remove this troublesome thread immediately and banish it to the Hinter Lands (aka questions and feedback forum).
