What nitrogen systems can be used for an Ion? Can any work. Can you tell me how the whole nitrogen system works lke what PSI and CI are. How do you change the air and all that?

Any nitrogen system (also referred to as HPA, or high-pressure air) can be used with an Ion. PSI stands for "pounds per square inch" and is how compressed the air is in the tank. CI stands for "cubic inches" and is how much compressed air the tank can hold. Most fields can refill a HPA tank, as well as usually having deals on "all-day air" where you pay a flat rate for as many fills as you need through the day, and most shops can fill or top off your tank for you.

Any Nitrogen system can work with the Ion. Nitrogen Systems are Nitrogen systems, there are no special ones for each different gun. The only differences are quality and out put pressure. There are two different pressures. Low pressure and High Pressure. Low pressure tanks have an out put pressure of 400 psi and lower. High pressure tanks have an out put pressure of 500 or above. Each tank has a different out put pressure, but most high pressure tanks out put 800 psi. Low pressure tanks are usually pre set at 450 psi, and some are adjustable. Low Pressure tanks will work with high end markers, and high pressure tanks will work with low end guns. Spyders can work with LPA but you have to add some modifications it a little. The Ion will work with both. Any gun will work with HPA, but pre 2003 Angels are only able to work with LP Tanks.

*Ahem, the first speed the a4 and a4fly are the only angels that can't work with hp. the ir3, led, lcd, and 05 speed up can.*Anyways hp is the way to go so you make sure you don't get shootdown. Try to get a 68/4500 crossfire or macdev.

Then what would be the best deal for an ion?

A Crossfire 68/4500. They are very good quality. You will get roughly 900 shots from it with a stock Ion, but will get better over time with upgrades and getting broken in. The Ion is more of a gas hog as compared to other high end markers, but you will still get plenty enough shots. The other best tank for an Ion would be the 45/4500. You will get roughly 600 out of that on a stock Ion, but it will also get better over time. Those tanks will run both about $140 average. The 68/4500 will run about $150 and the 45/4500 will run about $130. Those are carbon fiber wrapped and do have a 3 year hydrotest date.

What about PMI Pure Energy Fixed N2 Tank - 72ci 3000psi?

PMI tanks are known for leaks. If you look at the reviews, they are great tanks, but they leak on some of the tanks. The larger sized tanks are very good according to the reviews. I just bought a Pure Energy 72/3000 tank for my autococker. It works great. No leaks, tons of shots, very cheap, and great looking on most guns. I bought it for $65 as a price match, but you are able to get it at actionvillage for that price plus shipping. Today, I sweet spotted my regulator, and got over 900 shots out of my 72/3000.
