I got a B2k4 with PDS from an ebay store and it came with an older ICD reg. The b2k4 has the newer 3mm eyes which means it should come with the new style reg right? On the box it came with it has a picture of the new style too.

i don't remember any b2k4s coming with the new style regs. are you sure about that?

anyway, you don't really want a new style anyway, the old ones are nicer

Actually it is the other way around guys. The older 2K3 style reg was about 65/35 on good/bad.

The most common problem with the bad regs was improper boring in the seat/poppet area. This caused a very slow recharge rate. By adding a oring onto the bottom of the reg you could create a larger gap allowing the reg to flow better.

The newer regs that come on the FS have a far better track record, as far as preformance goes. In any case you probably got a marker that was made in the middle of the change from the old style 2K3 reg to the new style FS reg.

Funny part is the FS reg is simply a redesigned housing for the original reg that came on the Gen1-9 B2K's that everyone complained about :)

Where exactly do you put the oring? Mines ok but could be better with recharge.

You put it around the threads on the bottom reg housing.

This is provided you have a 2K3 reg. If you have the teardrop reg that comes on the FS this will not work!!!

I have a 2k3 reg. Is there anything else that I can do to increase the recharge rate? I moddified the brass cup, that seemed to help.

They are just smaller from the older b2k s. It helps in that it has a smaller area that it detects which makes it more precise and allows for a shorter eye delay.

By reducing the size of the brass poppet you will increase air flow through the reg as well. There however is a fine line between reducing the poppet and destroying it!!!

There are some additional things that can be done but I dont give those secrets out for free :)

I tryed the o-ring thing, dont work. It actually made it worse. What would I have to do to get the other info for increasing the performance?

i know 2 regs that have died on b2k's, when i got mine i had another reg rite away so it worked good

I do a port and polish job. Part of that includes modding the stock regs.
The basic version is $45. It includes the above as well as cleaning and lubing the marker and tuning it for the best consistantcy at 300fps.

Sorta, but Im saving for an Eggy and reg. Im modding the stock reg for now.
