I haven't read the whole thread, but it's very interesting.
It's not 100 percent confirmed, but it looks to be pretty true.

Interesting. I wonder how the amount of tournies will vary. More or less or about the same? I'm liking this idea.

I just saw a thread in ST where a kid told another one to go spam OT. Now we have a pic of 2 guys kissing. Not shens.
So what would this mean, basically?

What about the rules? Like is it semi, or ramping now?

Oh, I thought that you were saying "It's on PBN, thus meaning shens."
Sorry.
So, what would all the rule changes be?

Oh okay, i dont know what they would do about ramping caps, the pro division, and a number of other things.

i think its all going to be the same tourneywise, there might be some interaction between the two, the PSP events'll start to look better and possibly even bigger tradeshows at both circuits.

NPPL and PSP split up a few years ago, i doubt a merger would happen because both leagues are both so different, not to mention the NPPL is doing amazing while the PSP events are floundering.

It's not impossible, but it's definitely improbable.
PSP has a great format in XBall, but 7 Man isn't exactly unpopular. NPPL events are held in much better locations, attract more spectators, are more professionally run, have much better refs, and attract more vendors. Why would they want to merge with PSP besides to include the XBall format?

I'd think if anything they would keep x-ball format. It's way more exciting than 7 man pretty much unanimously decided to be the better format. Problem I see is with all those new teams, playing xball to eliminate them all to get to the finals would take forever. You can't really have the tournament in 2 days with that many games taking 40 mintes each. I'm not really surprised by the merge but I just think it's gonna be very hard to make it work so it appeals to everyone. Just have a pro divison of a bout 24 teams, since all those kick-butt xball teams will be playing.

I think this is a step in the right direction.
It's better to have one major paintball league instead of two smaller ones.

Ill bet they arent merging, unless the NPPL gets a lot out of this, considering they are thriving and the psp is hitting the tank. I still dont really believe and until it is confirmed i wont.

If they do merge, which I don't think they will, they still need to have events every month, and at about the same places that the PSP held them. We still need to have some events in Orlando, New England, and the Midwest. If they just go with the NPPL schedule, they won't go to any of these places.

Yeah, even though I really don't believe this, if they do merge, they should have events once a month, one XBall and 5 Man event, and one 7 Man event. NPPL will never come back to Miami, and word has it that they're looking at Houston and San Antonio. They've tried to negotiate a price for Reliant Stadium (Houston Texans), but supposedly Houston wants them to pay more than they're willing to pay.

I wish they'd have one at Bank of America Stadium. (Carolina Panthers)

Well as for format, I dont see 7 man dying any time soon. 7 man in itself is a completely different game than 5 man, and takes a bit more of a thought process than x-ball/five man because you cant screw up as much in 7 man as you can x-ball.
X-ball will probably become more popular to watch, but financiallyi ts still draining.
And theres not alot of love between the nppl and psp, i dont see them coming together (happily) anytime soon.

I don't see the PSP ever wanting to merge, problem is that its not a good league. The NXL has basically failed to get itself on tv and the players aren't getting paid in that league. Also the PSP tournaments are just not nearly as good as the NPPL. The only thing they have going for them is xball. Seven man is just boring to watch though so I think more xball=bigger chance of a TV deal, and isn't that what everyone wants in the end.
