Well, i think i'm ready for some ups for my 98c and i have a few questions.
1. would getting custom pro/newer 98c receiver halves and getting an e-grip be worth the cash do do it?
2. i was thinking of getting a VA and installing a cp regulator. is the psi output in those regs high enough for a 98c?

1. I don't think so. That's a lot of money to spend just for an e-trigger. Save for another, better gun when the time comes.

2. Not sure yet. I'm searching to find out.

ok thanks...i searched on the the reg as well and a few people say you can, while others say not to.

I figure that the CP probably would work considering the fact that I have rigged a low pressure reg to function on my A-5. I'm just not 100% positive.

but if i cranked it up it'd still have a good chance of functioning properly right? in that case i'll take a chance. thanks.

I would think so, but try to find the operating pressure of the CP before buying it. If you can't find the answer, you can always post in the air systems forum. I don't think the "experts" there will bite your head off.;)

If memory serves the CP only goes up to 500 PSI. I just put a Palmers Stabalizer on my 98 and my operating pressure is just over 600 PSI for 290-295 FPS. Unless you are going to do some modifications to get your operating pressure down I woulden't get the CP.

I see no point in paying $60 for a reg, when a tippmann is a high pressure (850 PSI) marker. I would get a reg only if you have a LPK kit, other than that, its pretty much a waste.....

yeah i see what you're saying.

Wrong:finger:

Granted that you do not need a regulator to protect your Tippmann marker from CO2 or even liquid CO2 they are certianly not a waste of money by any strech of the imagination.

- Less Barrel Breaks Used with anti-siphon a regulator will eliminate any chance of Liquid CO2 making it to your valve. This means no more hot shots that make a paintball burst in your barrel from deformation due to the pressure it's getting hit with.

- More Shots Per Tank Liquid CO2 actualy makes quite a bit of gas. So, if you are shooting it out of your barrel you are wasting quite a few shots per tank.

- Better Consistancy = Better Acuracy If your shots follow the same path each time due to having the exact same pressure behind the ball you have a lot better chance of hitting what you are aiming at.

- Slightly Quieter Not enough sound dampening to make the thing a high end, but every little bit helps them not know where it is coming from for a few more shots.

I still say it would be better to get a LPK and HPA. Tippmanns work great on co2, A/s is awsome, but i still think it would be less hectic and simpler to not buy the reg and just use a/s and be playing paintball then upgrading and have nothing left, and you can't paintball.

So...................... Let me get this straight.

You think it would be more cost effective to but a $100 LPK, and a $60 regulator, and a $70-200 HPA tank. Than throwing a $90 Palmers regulator on the setup he has now?:eyes:

remember this, he wants to get a cp reg and is using co2. That there is a waste, why? CP reg+CO2= dummy gas through. Now, if he is getting a palmers stabby. I would agree with you on that, a stabby is the best co2 reg that can be used on a tippy and have great results. Now, what i was trying to infer is that if he gets a reg (non palmers) it does no good to use it with co2, stock 98,without a LPK and not have a HPA tank. If he did go the HPA road, a CP reg or something to that degree would have been good. The lpk would have given increased effieceny, HPA would be still beneficial after he upgrades to a new gun. The CP reg can be carried over to the new gun or sold and still make money off of it. It all depends on how far and willing he wants to paintball. If you're playing and using co2, by all means get a palmers. But if you're using co2 and you throw a CP on it, the orings just freeze and the reg turns into a blocked gas through forgrip that costs $60.

ah, sorry guys, i forgot to tell you that i am getting a compressed air tank over the holidays, so you don't have to consider co2. and i also use hpa when i play.
