Ok im cleaning my max flow rreg. I have the vertical one. Ive cleaned the piston. Now I am trying to get to the internals. I have my reg off and I dont seem to have the right allen wrench nor know what to do. What do I do to get the internals out? The diagram on he smart Parts site is confusing to me since its a bit different.

I had the same problem on my reg. You don't need an allen whrench. I forget how ( too early in the morning) but it either slides out or you get a little pliers and pull it out or it might just unscrew with your hands. I forget, but i know my VR didn't need allen whrenchs. Hope this helped.

As you know, there are "two sides" to the Maxflo. The "front" where the spring is, and the back where the nightmares are <G>

95% of the time, you don't have to go into the "back" of the reg. There is realy nothing there that you have to lube on a regular basis. Unless you have a leak or creap you can't fix from the "front" - leave it alone.

Of course the "front" is very easy to get to- just unscrew the adjuster all the way.

The only thing inside your max flow that might be damaged by inserting an allen wrench is your filter, and you'd have to TRY to damage it.

Visit your local automotive parts store and purchase a 50 piece Allen wrench set for about six dollars. It'll have everything you need to completely disassemble it.

yeah, if yuor worried about damage, act like man and get your little brother to try it for you( oh gun, with air) just sucker him with the line, "you know, I think its time you had a chance to possibly die, er, I mean try my gun for me, like those knights that had sqiggles, or whatever"
