I've heard that the trigger frame on the JT 4.0 is bad and the safety doesn't work good and breaks often. Is this any true? If not, I might end up getting one. thanks

The trigger frame on the 4.0 isn't bad it's just got a long trigger pull. That can be fixed by doing a trigger job or stepping up to Mako ELCD trigger frame and going auto. I've had my 4.0 for three months and I haven't had any problems with it. I've hung with the electros and been raped by the electros in the same day. It's usually the person using the gun that mkes it good or bad. There are no problems with the safety.

If you do wind up geting one I would suggest using Diablo Blaze or PMI Premiums. I have had the best accuracy and very few if any ball breaks with those balls. Big Balls are OK, but they curve more than the Blaze or PMI's.

Another thing you might want to do but it's not necessary is go high pressure. The only two upgrades I've made have been the JT 12" 2-piece and the high pressure air. The only other upgrade I may make is the Mako trigger frame.

Gun Set up:
JT Excellerator 4.0, 12v revy, JT 2-piece (12"), 48ci PE, 20oz. PE

Slenda is right. There isn't any problem with the frame on the JT 4.0 other than that it has a long trigger pull. I did a trigger job on it when I first got it and it has a better feel than most Spyder with the same amount of work. I now have a Mako (boo-yah) trigger on it.

Ice, I would recommend stepping up to an HPA system. The first time I hooked it up I noticed a better, cleaner shot, and there were no more cold weather CO2 smoke clouds. Those CO2 clouds make it tough when trying to follow the path of your balls. CO2 is still nice to have as a back up!

I haven't had much of a chance to play during the winter to justify pulling out $300 for a HPA system. Anyway, I usually play once a month. And with the kid on the way, I know my play time won't inprove. However, HPA is in my future. Can't said the near future though.

Ice, I value my dollar too. I didn't pay $300 for HPA. I got one for $75. Acepaintball.com had PE 48ci HPA's for sale a couple of weeks ago w/free shipping. I think you have to spend $100 now to get the free shipping though. I play paintball on a budget my friend. I am not wealthy and I don't have wealthy parents to buy me all the new toys I want either. While you have a baby on the way. I have undergrad loans and in a few months grad school loans that will likely prevent any additional upgrades! I'm a sucker for a good deal!
