I was just at my cousin's hockey game at the ice rink and I thought of a very interesting idea. I know this sounds dangerous, and involves lots of practice to get decent, but I thought this would be so cool and loads of fun.

Here it is: Paintball... on ice. We can call it... Iceball. lol.

EDIT: You could also do slides across half of the rink. Loads of fun there alone.

Please don't flame, I just wanted to suggest a cool idea.

er ice isnt soft to fall on
ice rings are cold
so everyone will be wearing a lot of jackets therefore causing like 50 percent of all your hits to bounce(made up statistic)
but er i would try at least once

SoftIceball. We invent a new type of Ice that's soft enough for diving on, yet strong enough to skate on.

I've overslid bunkers on carpet, I'd hate to try sliding into a bunker on ice:confuse:

That's called melting ice.

Once you start moving, a sweatshirt is more than sufficient to keep you warm and only 0% more hits will bounce (made up percentage;)). Really, anyone with pads and paintball pants/sweatpants will hit the ice without much pain. Hey, if you can survive getting hit with a sphere traveling at 260-300fps you can survive landing on your *** on ice.

i can just picture someone sliding head first into a bunker and just completely taking it out

Not really, considering you can break you tailbone.

paintballer930
12-06-2005, 01:33 PM
Yea it would be like playing on a large hard rock.

DyersEve
12-06-2005, 01:36 PM
how about BounceHouseBall....just play in a huge bounce house...you could snap shoot out of the top of like a 7 foot bunker just by bouncing up

-kinda like that slamball idea

hahah  i would try it atleast once... but probably not want to pay for it

I've played on a frozen lake before.

It's fun...but it was only one round...my tailbone was in pain.

Tailbones+breaking=teh major suckness(trust me).

GranDream
12-06-2005, 01:41 PM
There are pads that protect the tailbone, if you don't mind wearing a football girdle. Second tightest thing I've ever worn, oh the memories.

The slider shorts have tailbone padding just not much.

12-06-2005, 01:56 PM
My old Dye Hybrids have plenty of butt padding. That should suffice. Besides, my tailbone is as hard as a rock from many seasons of boarding. :D

Ice is kinda like a dull needle. You can touch it look at it, even use it but if you push hard enough you'll still prick your finger. Basically you'll be ok with ice but, if you play hard enough your gonna end up getting hurt.

Hey come on if you use proper safety gear you will be fine. Just imagine the funness of sliding halfway down the field and picking off all the other guys while laughing the whole time.

slip-n-slides between bunkers > ice

I played my brother on a frozen lake and we were having a great time until I went onto a really thin part. Luckily I was very close to shore and our house is like 20 yards off of the shore. I still shot him right as I fell in ;)

ice skates + airball bunkers = bad.

ice skates + airball bunkers = bad.

+paint gooping up the ice surface causing the blades of the skates to slip out from under you.

Sounds somewhat fun thou, but land is much better.

Or we could all learn to dash about in the air like super saiyans and be like "HAME KAME" and walk the trigger at 32bps.

I'll give it a test run for you guys, I live a block away from the ice rink in town, and it has rails ect. I'll let you know if bruising your tailbone is worth it. I'll just slide around with my gun first though, then play a game maybe this weekend.:dodgy:

Or play on trampolines. Try laning someone out while they're jumping six or seven feet up in the air.

I like the idea of playing paintball like slamball with trampolines=teh major funness.

We could use wood.

Ice skates going slightly fast+wood=bad.

Shinnanagans
12-06-2005, 03:02 PM
Wood bunkers? Air Bunkers? I am thinking snow. Of course, this is MN and we have plenty dunno about anyone else though. That way if you crash into a bunker it just falls apart.

proudballer72
12-06-2005, 03:51 PM
I'm sure that it's lots of fun to get lit up because your bunker is in pieces around you.

hmm, ice skates and a person sliding torwards you. You trip and pull the other skate forward, in action also slicing off the slider's finger.......Ouch....

No its more likely you slide and end up puncturing yourself with the skate. ill stick to regular paintball thank you.

Well, you also don't need to use ice skates. And I actually thought of a variation of soccer that involves paintball, you know, to make it more exciting. The game is played exactly the same, except on the sidelines, there are a bunch of people with paintball guns shooting at the soccer players. I believe this variation will help with the Americanization of soccer:dodgy:

i dont think anything can help with the americanization of soccer, except if they switch it to being able to use your hands, having an offense and defense line up across from each other and when a egg shaped ball is given to a leader they clash and the defense tries to bring down the offensive player with the futbol. Or something crazy like that. :dizzy:

Ice skates wouldn't be used. That is too risky and not as fun.

Slipping on ice and trashing gat=Bad.
Slipping on ice and getting impaled by said gat=Really bad.

My electronic markers don't like water of any kind. Frozen or otherwise.

I think this thread's more for laughs though.

And that's where we end the stereotype, but yes although Hockey is enjoyable, using a paint marker would be much more.

I've played Ice Hockey for a long time. Paintball on ice would be fun. You would have to wear skates though. Nothing else gives the traction you would need. Definitely padding to protect you when you land on the ice (tailbone, knees, elbows, helmet so you don't crack the back of your head if you fall backwards)...

How bout' them Packers? 2-7
Vikings own you MN all the way.
Anywho, yes I tried it with my gun at the ice-rink and was fun, but reccomend using back ups or spyder/BE type markers, not your High-Ends. Too risky to hurt them. That's what I did anyway.

im not a big fan of football, but it would kind of be fun skating around with be blades shooting at eachother.

i think that iceballing wouldnt be very fun because you couldnt dive over bunkers and not get hurt or worse, your gun break.

Hey this isn't for everyone but if you know how to skate pretty well it could be so much fun...[Having daydream...]

You're at the fifty and there's one guy left against you (1v1). He's pretty far forward too and you know where he wants to move up. He skates as fast as he can and you light him up so good that he crashes into the wall without hurting himself.
