OK...my question is...I'm wondering, if I were to get a regulator for my 98 Custom what should I set the pressure/psi at on the regulator? Should I just max it out or leave it on the lowest setting? I don't know what pressure the 98's run at or if it even matters....I'm assuming the same as a regular CO2 tank which i believe is 1500 psi. At least that's what my 20oz tank says on the side of the tank. Besides, what does adjusting the pressure do anyways? Increase/Decrease velocity? HELP!! I'm looking at either the Palmer, ACI 6 stage, or Tippman reg. and I plan on running CO2. Also, if anyone out there has the Full Boar Shadow, let me know what you think about it and any problems you've had with it. I've already read about it so I know how it works....just want to hear some input and whether or not i should just stay stock.

Well alright lets see if we can get you on the right track. First off the 1500 psi on th isde of your co2 tank is the burst pressure of the tank, meaning that if you fill it to over 1500 psi RUN!...hehe. The output pressure of the co2 tank itself is about 800 psi. Now for the settings on the reg, that is all preferencial to the marker. It will most likely be somewhere in the middle of the pressure setting, but you will have to use a chrono to try and find the optimum input pressure and velocity settings.
Also the ACI six stage is not a reg, it is an expansion chamber. They are used when you are running co2 through your marker. It helps the co2 expand properly so that you get more consistency out of the co2, and so that you are not getting a partially expanded portion of co2 running through your marker which can cause the velocity to spike dramatically.

I don't have a Full Boar, but I did help my friend with his and all I can say is wow! Full Boar makes great quality products, all aluminum and SS, no cheap plastic anywhere. If you're looking to get one, I highly suggest it, you'll love it.
As for the regulator, I run my M98C with a vertical Palmer Stabilizer. It is, hands down, The Best regulator for CO2. I highly suggest one, mine works great, and a reg test in the AGD section says they recharge real quick, at only .044ms. Very consistent, and can easily handle liquid CO2, as well as keep it out of your gun. They come preset at about 500psi, and for a non-LP 98 you're gonna need to turn it up to around 580-600 psi to get it cycling properly. You can fine tune this with the use of an RVA. The best thing ever for CO2! They're not cheap, but they're worth $90 for a vertical version, or about $90 for a female and mounting block. Get 'em at www.g3pb.com

Ok...well, first I must say that I'm a complete idiot.....I have no idea why I put ACI 6-stage on there...cause I know that it's not a reg. DUHH!!! And as for the reg. part, it would probably be best to put a gauge on the end of the reg. going into the gun so as to monitor its outgoing pressure?...right? If so....what's the best gauge or do I really need one or just a chrono? Would a lower pressure setting waste more CO2 being that you need more air to push the ball?
So....increasing/decreasing the pressure determines how high my velocity is capable of going and then i just use the velocity screw to set the velocity I want? If this is so then i would just need a chrono instead of a pressure gauge right? Hell.....I'm feakin confused now......I need a really good explanation. I know how a reg. works and what it does...I'm just trying to understand in what ways the pressure affects the gun and why it needs to be set at a certain psi or if it even needs to be.
How do the Tippmann Reg. and the Palmer compare? I know the Palmer is top notch but what about the Tippmann or something else?
