What ever happened to quality and paintball?! I was lookin at http://www.pumpplayers.com at some of the older (1985-1992) guns, the kp series the nelspot 007 the spirit and grey ghost. Not one time have i heard someone complain bout one of these guns or how the bolt screw up or the trigger speed isn't right.... It's a great thing when all u have to say is prays for u'r gun!!* Have manufactuers just forgot that there object is quality not quantity??

Most manufacturers still do produce quality paintball products as far as I know, except maybe Brass Eagle and Kingman. Brass Eagle's new blowbacks look alright, though.

Well you get what you pay for, this day in age they seem to take a dood thing and try too make it better, but in most cases it turn into a bigger piece of junk than before

Those old guns arent neccesarily higher qualities, there's just less room for error. Comparing a stock gun to an electro is like saying

"My bicycle is better quality than your BMW because my bike never needs a tune up"

That's what the whole thread is though, you're comparing stock guns with the guns of today (semis), so you cant say not to compare em :P

Actually they did have semi's back then. Tippmann had the SMG 60 that gave you the option of firing semi or full auto. The downside to the SMG 60 was it's magazine that only held 15 paintballs. Eventually, out came the 68 special (by Tippmann) which I think started the semi revolution.

The automag started the semi revolution because up until that time all the semis sucked

The 68 special did not suck. I owned #416 manufactured. I was one... correction the only guy in my area that had a semi at that time. We're talking 1991-92 I think. I live in Canada. I was able to rock and roll and party everyday. Tippman reliability and quality was great. Only problem I ever had was playing in the winter (9 months of the freaking year up here, or so you Yanks think hehehehe) and the gas feed line froze and cracked. That was the end of that gun. There were no pro shops around at that time and I'm not sure if Tippman let you send it to factory to be repaired or not. So it sits in my basement dead
