I spoke with a Tippmann rep at a recent PB show and he informed that Tippmann is releasing the E-Grip with a different chip board. It will now be a wasp board which, according to the rep, you can shoot 22bps vs. the 15-17 that is shot now.
Anyhow, has anyone heard about this?:)

No no no, it's the WAS board, no 'P'. It's also old news, like years old, unless the newer version is going to have new improved modes.
At some point it was even supposed to become standard equipment on all stock E-grips, then they firgured out it was probably more lucrative for both parties to market the grip and board separately. And you'll need to do the QEV mod to the Cyclone if you are holding out hope for shooting twenty-something BPS on an A-5.

That's what I thought, do you know if there's any way to tell the difference between which E-grip's are already WAS'ed and those that are not?

No, they didn't have an LED.
So what you're saying is that if you ordered an E-grp from Action Village or whatever, it would have a WAS in it? That seems to defeat the whole point of it...

I'd definitely take care to ask first, but yeah, when it first came out Wicked Air Sportz's site even had a little note that when they got production going full blast it would become the standard board.
It seems to be fairly standard business proceedure for them. The WAS was standard on Timmies for a while before Bob came out with better boards stock, IDK if there was one before the current 'Frenzy' line though.

there is a new board for the e-grip, decent price, and its supposedly faster than the WAS board.

There is already a separate thread discussing that particular board. Thanks for the info though.
