Would that work??? I dont like getting smacked in the goggles, and want to know, can I cut my bolt off, and use it with no probs??
Yes, you could "chop your bolt".
I don't think you will see any measurable difference in preformance, and I would recomend you do it on a lathe, or have some one like at the high school shop class do it on a lathe, so it looks good.

Do you mean chop the back end off or trim off some of the middle?

Wouldn't it be hard to remove for cleaning if you chop the back?

not really. actually, when i pull the pin on mine, and tilt the front up, the bolt slides right out. or if yours doesnt do that--degass gun, pull pin, take off barrel, push bolt with finger. easy
