CO2 tank busted?

Hello all, I just got a new tippmann custom pro and went the the store to get my co2 tank filled. When I got back home I just left the tank in my room and later that night when I was in the basement I heard a hiss coming from my room and saw my co2 tank spitting out air and it was cold all over and I couldn't touch it without a cloth. I brought it to my backyard and it the leaking stopped for the moment. Any idea what went wrong and how to fix it? it has a built in on/off switch on it.

The burst disk probably burst. You need to go to a pro shop and get a new one replaced.

Ok..the place that filled it for you filled it too full. On the side of it you will see this little round thing sticking out that has 3 holes in it, That is called a burst disk. When it the presure builds up in it too 3000lbs it will blow the disk. All's you have to do is take it back to the place that filled it and either make them replace it or you can go to WalMart and get a burst disk there. Then you just put it in your self with a Socket Set. You might try to get the place that filled it to pay for it.

It could also be the valve. Where was it spitting from? Top of valve? Side of valve? Does the tank have any CO2 left in it? If it does, it's the valve and not the burst disk. Make sure the on/off is completely turned off and check the tank.

Yeah, took it to the store and it turns out the valve was busted. Going to take two days to get it replaced.

they should just give you a new tank if you just bought that thing. what a buncha jerks. id make them give me a new tank right away. some idiot at their store probably filled your tank up too much which caused it to leak later. happened to my friend once and the worst part was he had his tank in the same bag he had his new case of paint in... this froze the balls and caused most of them to break. which sucked. in the end the store gave him a new tank and new paint plus and extra 200 jar.

It was probably an o-ring or something of that sort in the valve that gave up the :ghost:. They should have just given you a new tank though.
