MODS: I'm posting this here so I get an unbiased opinion of people who don't own the actual gun...
Anyway, what do you think is better, the Spyder Em-1, or the Piranha G3 PROe TS? How are they on paint chops? How much am I going to need to be spending on upgrades for each? And spare me the posts saying "Get a timmy, an impy, a cocker..." or "Spyders suck , piranhas suck" I'm not interested in those types of posts, and I'm not willing to dish out $500+ for a marker alone. These two seem like descent $250 markers, what's your thoughts?

I'll make break downs for you on each marker. I have shot a few EM-1s but not a Pro E so this is what I know...
The EM-1
-Great rate of fire. All that is needed is a revy, nitro, and a barrel.
-If you want to get picky, get a new reg, VA, and stickies.
-Granted the stock reg isn't the best, it does work.
-It is a true electro pneumatic as opposed to the ProE which is just a blowback with a storm frame.
-All kinds of fire modes. 3,6 rd burst; full auto; semi.
-Has a delrin bolt so it needs no oil (which is a major problem with it if you do oil it. It will swell and crack. A lot of people complain about the bolt swelling and that is what it is from).
The ProE
-Great rate of fire
-All that is need is a revy, barrel and nitro.
-Pretty good reg stock.
-Seems like it would be comfortable to hold.
-Modes of fire.
-Ease of maintenance (it's a simple blowback).
-The storm frame is nice.
That is a basic breakdown of them for you. Both will perform well if you take care of them. I say it is a hard decision. I would probably go with the EM-1 seeing that it is a true electro pneumatic. It's your call. Hope I could help.

I'm really liking that Pirhana. For one, you get a PMI reg, much better quality than a Kingman (and I shoot a Spyder so I'm not knocking anyone, just ebing honest). I own a Storm frame on my Shutter and love it. Nice trigger pull and all the fun modes to use with yuor friends. Has a tourney lock too. Next, you get the kickarse prism barrel. It's clear, but rumors are it's not too accurate. However you can sell a clear Spyder threaded barrel on ebay for quite a pretty penny and buy a CP or ceramic with the money.
ROF for your Pirhana will be about 12BPS, maybe 13. My Shutter with Storm is currently set to 12 BPS, and I can push it to 13 depending on pant/coniditions. Rate of fire for the Em1 will be 13 max, MAYBE 14 if you can pull the trigger that fast. The Pirhana has a powerfeed so blowback is only a problem on the last three balls or so whereas the Em1 has no blowback at all. Em1 parts are kinda ticky to find sometimes, and I've heard a new valve really sets you back.
Either gun you'll need a 12V revvy, halo, or ric, NO EXCEPTIONS. You're looking at another $50+ or so, but your clear barrel will refund some of that money. New barrel would be nice, but if you like the clear one, mke sure you keep it really pretty if you intend to buy a new barrel later.
My vote is the Pirhana. BTW, the Pirhana doesn't have screwy holes on the bottom either, so yuo can get a new drop.

Thanks a lot, I didn't expect the types of posts I asked for. Anyway, I went out and got the Em-1 with a nice Crossfire tank and such. It's a really nice gun. Only complaint is about my new 12v revvy, wich takes a hammer to get the batter cover on, due to the fact the 9v batteries come out higher the the slots for the cover to close...

:( the problem with that is your going to have a hell of a time getting it back off when you need to switch your batteries. i just left mine open a little so it won't be so hard to get off.

I figured that, so I triple hot glued an extension peice to that little nub so I could hammer it off. Hope it works. ;)

The best gun for any money is the M3 Black Dragun. It has an electric Trigger which allowes you to really throw the paint. BUT you will need a good loader to keep up with it. The gun can shoot so fast you can chop if you really get down on it,,,but its really not the gun,,its that the loader does not load the paint as fast. I shot one at the Madi Gras Open in New Orleans and had a Ref come to check to see if i was on Full Auto cuz it was shooting so fast,,the gun really rocks. I have been playing PaintBall now for 18 years I have had EVERY GUN MADE,, but the Black Dragun is changing the game. I know Teams willing to put down their Angels to shoot the Dragun,,,check them out.
