i had been looking into barrel kits lately and i was wondering...... ok, so first I use a ball sizer thingie to see how big my ball is...... then when im ready to find the barrel that corresponds with my paint.... do u use the same size barrel as my ball?? or like one bigger or wat??
say the ball is .683
Wuld i use the barrel thats .683 or wuld i use one a little larger? ive never had a barrel kit before and im just curious about them

You dont need a ball sizer, use the inserts/backs to size them, put a ball in the inserts/backs then hold it up to light and if you see 2 crescents on either side of the ball your good.

yeah, or just use the blowgun method. drop a ball down into the bore size, and if it rolls out, it's too small. if you put it into the bore, then blow on it, and it takes more than just a firm puff of air to blow it out, then it's too big. the ball is too big or too small, I mean
generally speaking, when measuring ball sizes, this is how I do it. lets say that you've got a 689 bore. I would put anything from a 687 to a 690 ball into it safely. a 685-86 bore could go, but could be affected by a looser fit. a 690 ball Could work, if it's decent paint, in good condition. otherwise, I'd prolly move up to a 690 bore, or even a 691 or 693 bore, depending on what condition the paint is in. if it's good stuff, then 690 bore. if it's really cheap crap, prolly gonna be out of round, and/or the shells be gummy, so 691-93 bore to lessen the chances of breaks.
