32 degrees Whisper Barrel

i was at 32degrees.com and i foun a sweet barrel in my price range called the whisper. the front of the barrel acts like a scilencer because it has like a hundred holes in it. i was windering if this would sacrifise distance because the CO2 might escape too quickly. does anyone have a whisper that can speak from experience?

Also - what is the best paint for this barrel?
