Barrel adapters??

I want to get a new barrel for my 98 custom, but I know that I will probably be upgrading to a cocker sometime in the near future. Should I get a barrel adapter for my m98 so I can use cocker barrels, that way I just dont waste the money on a barrel that I wont use in a few months?? Also does using a barrel adapter lower the performance of your gun (accuracy, range, ect.) ??

i think the adapters are a great idea. they dont seem to lessen the performance of the barell and they are cheap.
