Why did I remove the LPK? It didn't make much of a difference for me and the volumizer kept getting in the way of my hand.
Added RT instead of an E-grip. I prefer to keep my A5 100% mechanical and if the RT fails I can still shoot it.
I switched to the Tapco stock because it gave me enough room to fit my stabilizer inside unlike the Specops stock. Also, the angle gives my mask a little more clearance and it fits my shoulder better.
I also replaced the Specops EZ foregrip kit with the Pro version. The Pro foregrip requires you to cut off the front fin. The fin previously sticking out of the grip was right where I wanted to put my index finger and bugged the crap out of me. Since I had to mill the breech for the new tombstone, I figured I might as well cut off the fin.
In case you're wondering why the stab is mounted the way it is, the bend in the steel hose provides enough pressure to keep everything inline and prevents annoying rattling. The only modifications to the stock were drilling holes for the nipple, front macro-line exit, and a hole for an allen wrench to adjust the reg.
The gun balances perfectly over the grip frame when the hopper is empty.
Okay, I know the barrel is still stock but it's really not that bad after a little time polishing the bore and combined with the consistancy of the stabilizer.
Well, almost done. She's not a pretty as the mil-sim guns, but she makes up for it with balance, reliability, and simplicity. Now I just need to get her a digi-camo paintjob and decide between an Apex or Flatline barrel.
