Geez, I guess everyone who answered you wants to be a knuckle head tonight. I would go with thr R/T trigger, Cyclone Feeder and maybe a nice barrel......12 - 14 inches (ceramic maybe) J&J makes a couple of nice ones. If you shop around you should be able to get all three for less than 200 bucks. First though, play your stock gun and get to know some guys who already have a Tippmann. See if they'll let you test theirs out. That way, you'll know more of what you're looking for.

No, its just you havent been here long enough to know how much this question has been answered. I swear it probably has been asked once a week, sometimes more. Its easy enough to look at the Stickies, and use its all-great knowledge, to decide on what ups you should get, or what barrel you should get, etc. But most people dont, so we sit here and answer there threads that shouldnt have been here in the first place.

Well, lead him to the right area.... don't slam him for asking. Oh, just because I registered recently under this name, doesn't mean I'm new to this forum.

This man is a genious  I also got a stock, personal choice (easier to sight down the Flatline shroud, as I can comfortably hold my 98c like a rifle when prone).

And if you click on the "SEARCH!!!" or the "Search or Die." you will be taken to the advanced search engine.

Sometimes. If you can find the "sweetspot" on an Rt, you will probably shoot faster. But if you have an Egrip with a Jcs trigger and you can walk it, youll shoot alot faster.

If you are looking to get a nice all around barrel go for the new CP bigshot its a middle sized barrel and shoots premium balls great and then maybe a steel NO2 tank. (I really helps with accuracary) i play with one and i im happy i bought it. As for that R/T i wouldnt get it. its costly and not really a diy project due to the plastic powertube. also most fields wont allow it anyways. if you want speed by some other gun. the tippman is great for scenereo games and light speed ball games. i know what im saying i have had the same 98c for 4 years now and i still run the field.

if you insist on getting the 98 custom and not the custom pro, which i btw i recommend because the drop forward is already included,a better barrel included and they say the paintjob on it is better quality so itll hold up longer. but if you are gonna get it,get an aftermarket barrel as the stock 98 custom barrel really really stinks..get something like a tippmann pathfinder 14 inch barrel,or a smart parts progressive barrel. i got a 16 inch smart parts barrel and a 14 inch pathfinder from tippmann and also have a 12 inch j&j ceramic which i dont use much and i may be open to parting with if i found someone who wants it. all in all.get a custom pro,id get the custom pro e..and get the ugly plastic front grip off and replace with the allen paintball rubber foregrip.also get a dye sticky for the back grip..thats what i got.
my setup:
98 custom with RT kid and double trigger
12 j&j ceramic
14 inch tippmann pathfinder
16 in smart parts progressive
viewloader evo 2 egg hopper
allen paintball rubber foregrip on front
red dye bubble sticky grip in back
no name drop forward
nitroduck comp air tank 3000 psi/68 cubic in carbonfiber

Sniper69 nobody can really answer this question for you. There are tons of upgrades for different reasons. Some might be good for one person and not for others. Let me ask you this.
Are you new to paintball? If yes dont worry about upgrades just play

Have you used the 98? If no again just play and figure how it fits in your style of play. If yes then you know where the marker is lacking for your style of play.

What I am basically saying is there is no need to rush out and up a new marker. Just go out and play, be safe, have fun, and up grade it as you go, as YOU see fit for your style of play and where it is lacking for you.

I agree we can decide 4 u
its all preference
ive seen ppl make it an a5 (which wuz a waste) and ppl make it more complicated with electronics(no affence) for speedball
i v seen ppl keep it the same way for 3 years and then just get a stock!!!
play and see wut u actually need
(and then wiff the extra cash make it shine:cool:)

First thing you need to do, go out and play!!! Then decide on ups.
