There are certain things about paintball that keeps bringing me and other people back for more again and again. These are what I consider some of the most important factors in the success of the sport. Others are things that we just simply could not live without.
1. The adrenalin rush.
Every time I step onto the field, I get nervous about how I will play that day, and in some ways it is a good feeling. When the paintballs start to fly, you get this feeling that there is nothing better in the world to be doing at that moment. You just can't live your life without that feeling.
2. Friendships
Paintball is a great sport to meet new people. There are so many different people and countries that play the sport it is amazing. Going to the paintball field is one way to take a good look at the world and see different views about things. You become friends with so many people, and get a very positive interaction with others. Teamwork is what brings the people of the sport together, and it creates friendships that will last a lifetime.
3.The Strategy
Paintball is like the game of chess. It is exciting to devise genious and foolhardy plans and then execute them. Strategy one of the most important aspects of the game. Without it, we would all just be running around a field shooting at stuff. That is no way to play, and the only way to play is strategically. There is nothing more fun then making a better plan then the enemy.
4. The Markers
Everybody loves a hopped up marker. There are so many different guns to be had, and so many different ways to mod them. The possibilitys are endless. Half of the fun is in being unique, and the other half is in having a weapon the enemy fears.
5. The Exercise
What better way to stay fit then by playing paintball. People who need exercise can do it in an extremely fun way. Getting fresh air is very important to a persons health. Not only is paintball fun, but it is healthy for you!
6. Newbies
One of the greatest thing about paintball is the newbies. Not only are they fun because they make easy targets, but they are also the players who make you laugh or realize that there is more to the game then expensive equipment. They are also fun, in my opinion, to help. It is nice to give back.
7. Teams
Paintball is great because you get to create your own teams. It is fun and exciting to move up through the ranks alongside friends, or even people who you have recently met. Teams are good too, because they are always there for one another. That promotes a good feeling of comradery that you can't find just anywhere. You lose together, and you win together. There is no better way to play.
8. Bragging rights
Along with all that hrd work you always deserve a little glory! It is fun to become the best player you can be and have something to show for it. That is the end result of mastering the game, and everyone dreams one day to be looked up to by others in the sport, or be in the magazines. Getting attention is what drives many of us to become better players
9. Getting hit
You can never forget the feeling of being hit by a paintball. Sometimes it will hurt, sometimes it makes you laugh, and other times it will be upsetting. There is always going to be that element of surprise when you get hit, and I live for it. When you see a paintball coming straight towards your face at the last minute, and know it is going to hit, that is quite the feeling.
10.Websites and Forums (PBreview, PBnation, Special ops, etc.)
One other great thing about paintball is this place. It is a great place to get information about the paintball world, and meet new people. It is also really awesome to have your own little web page for everyone to see. I want to thank everyone on these forums for being such good people and helping me out with my questions.
These were not meant to be posted in any particular order. I thought it might get to people to thinking why the game of paintball is important in their lives. I know it has changed my life forever. Thanks for reading my thoughts.
