Adjusting the ball detent

i was looking at my torid and i was wondering canyou screw in the detent more and make the ball detent go in more causing a stronger detent?????????

short answer, no, long answer (below)

you can try screwing it in more, but if it won't move, stop because you'll strip the detent and it may take a little while before you get a new one

if it can screw in further (it shouldn't) it won't make a harder detent but just push it out more, and it might hit/scrap/catch/stop the bolt
