Has anyone used a Teardrop Barrel? What is the range?? Is it compareable to the flatline barrel?

Has anyone used a Teardrop Barrel? What is the range?? Is it compareable to the flatline barrel?Yes, I use a 12" TD. It's range is the same as all other straight barrels, velocity is what effects range when one is talking about a straight barrel. Since all markers are made to shoot approximately the same velocity all have the same approximate range.

The Flatline has better range b/c it puts backspin on the paintballs causing lift and therefore longer range. At ranges longer than those attainable by a straight barrel the Flatline will stil be able to effective fire upon his opponent, however the chances of his getting a break on target become lower and lower the farther away the target is. An opponent may often be well within the range of the Flatline, but the chances of the ball still having enough energy to break are fairly low. For the 98 Custom the Flatline also has the added dimension of needing to be tweaked and adjusted quite a bit before really being effective.

I tried a TearDrop on my A-5 and I didn't like it at all. It caused a few chops and once it's wet, you're better off going commando and taking it off. It was Ok considering it's only a 30$ barrel, but I'd spend your money on something a lil' better (Maybe an All American, or a J&J if you have the cash).

Check out any of Smart Parts or J&J barrels if you want one over a flatline. You'd save a little bit of cash, but if you want them to go REALLY far, try a flatline. I'd say use a flatline only if you play woodsball, though. It's useless to have your balls fly straight on a speedball field.

What do you use your Drop on, Coenen?

98C and, for me at least, it's been an excellent barrel from day one.

I actually prefer it to my Big Shot, something that was kind of disappointing considering the relentless stream of reccomendations the Big Shot recieves. I also preferred it to my Flatline, which I eventually sold b/c I never used it.

I've used it in all kinds of play and weather and it's never had issues with chopping or breaking balls etc. You just have to keep it reasonably clean, not perfectly, just reasonably.

ive shot the teardrop, progressive, j&j, ultralight, and a couple others.
