I have heard rumors about using RainX and possibly a light coat of wax within the barrel to remove paint easier after barrel breaks. I was just wondering if anyone has perfected this manuver and what steps they have taken to apply it? I would like to try this trick out, but am unsure as to how to go about it. Any help would be apreciated.
Thanks in advance.

well the best way to do it is get liquid wax, like carnuba wax, and pour it down your removed barrel. Let it dry, then take a hair dryer and heat the crap out of your barrel. (aluminum or steel barrels only). Then run a cloth through your barrell to remove the wax. I use an old barrel cleaner with a rag at the end.
It works pretty well, and if you get really good at waxing it, try leaving the top portion of your barrel unwaxed, sometimes it will produce a backspin and help with your range. It really depends on the type of barrel though.
We jacked around with this on our rental guns from our field and it works. (tippmans). My smarts parts barrel for my alley cat really cleans up well with a THIN coat in the barrel.
I wouldn't suggest it on a composite barrel though.. ....
good luck!

Many moons ago - back when Splatmasters and Rapides ruled we used Crisco to treat our brass and aluminum barrels.
I laugh at it now - but back then - it worked.
