"Paintballing" is NOT a word

Ok so I feel compelled to tell everyone that the word paintball is a noun not a verb. For some reason it bothers me when somebody asks me "Well, how did paintballing go?", because would you ever ask somebody "Well, how did footballing go? Get run over?" ? No... to me "paintballing" just doesn't sound right.

And "paintballer" is no better. How often do you hear "The baseballers have a home game tonight" or "The softballers got stomped last night".

Does this bother anyone else, or am I alone in my annoyance of "paintballing"?

"Paintballing" in the sentence "How did paintballing go?" is a gerund. Paintballing is a verb used as a noun. So, learn grammar and learn what a contraction is, then forget it and remember that paintballing is about playing :rolleyes:

I'd say footballing or basketballing. In fact, tons of people do. Recognize this term? - "Hey, you wanna go balling later?"

Usually they mean basketball. Every know and then some fairy just wants to go dancing.
