Ok, mine has been blending a few balls. Would it work to remove the bolt? I cant see what it does except stop balls from feeding. So, do i need the bolt?

Yeah, you really do. The bolt pushes the ball forward into the barrel, while the bolt o-ring creates a seal with the barrel that makes sure that most of the gas from the valve works to propel the ball forward.

You coudl try it without the bolt just to see what happens, but I doubt the results will be at all postive.

yeah, i would prolly break balls endlesssly and waste co2 without it. when i get my new cvx valve i will try it.

Maybe its not the bolt thats the problem. Hopper doesent feed fast enough maybe the reason and usually is. If you take the bolt out the gun wont work.

I was thinking, and this is only conjecture, that with significant modding you COULD make the marker into a bolt-less design...but that would be SIGNIFICANT modding. I'll go into detail sometime, when it's not 12:30 at night and I have HW to do before I can sleep.

My idea for a "Bolt-less" Tippmann.

You'll need the center feed mod, only the stock feedport MUST be sealed as well, there can only be one ball-sized gaping hole in the chamber at this point. I don't think it could be done with a side feed. You'll also need new style detents, the Tippmann one is no longer viable without the bolt pushing the ball past it. I wouldn't be hard at all to tap holes for Trix type detents, one on either side of the chamber.

All right, now comes the fun part, the front bolt needs to be cut almost completely down, except the back part, it will needs o-rings inside and out to get a good seal on the powertube and keep all of the gas flowing forward. The project would be less about the physical modding and more about preventing too much gas loss from the chamber during firing.

The top part of the bolt would ALSO needs to be reworked so as to create a SEAL between the ball stack and the chamber WITHOUT influencing the already chambered ball, some time with a mill would probably make that possible, as well as if you had the materials to do your own delrin bolt/trap-door system.

That last part is what would make this project REALLY hard, it would be by far the toughest part to mill and would probably require work on the inside of the recievers as well.

However, if it were coupled with an LPK it would vitually eliminate ball chopping, especially if the door was spring loaded and then returned by the linkage to the rear bolt in the same manner as the current 98C anti-chop mod is set up.

Hopefully that made some sense. This would be possible, just like anything else, simply VERY impractical.

Sorry for teh OT, but I feel this is quite important.
Rawker- I'm SO sorry to hear about your sister, man. That really sucks. She was a really pretty, and by the looks of her, very bright. What a waste... :(
