View Full Version : Newbie Questions
Im thinking of buying a Bushmaster and I have some questions.
Standard Bushmaster 2k
68 ci Crossfire tank 3000 psi preset
* Are there any upgrades which I absolutely must have? I am
trying to cut the costs as much as possible.
* Are there any problems with the gun-regulator and the tank?
( I already own the tank )
* What usually causes malfunction on the Bushmaster?

I would upgrade to an aftermarket barrel, Cusom Products are great barrels for the price, as well as J & J, Smart Parts, etc....
Everyone has a preference to a barrel so go with what you like, and one that cost about what you want to spend. Also make sure it is the correct bore for the paint you use.
The Nitro tank you have will work just fine with the bushy. One thing you may look into is a nice drop forward that will balance the marker better. This is not needed only a convenience.
The Bushys are pretty bullet proof. Take care of it and maintain your bushy and you should be trouble free.

With the newest versions, you may not have to change the barrel. They have a 2 piece design now. The old one wasnt actually that bad. My freinds was accurate but it broke some balls in the barrel, he has an ACE, but that might have been due to the really old paint he was using.
If i were you I would get the newest version, try the barrel out and see if it works good and matches your paint, then decide if you need a new barrel.

The new barrel works ok, but I'd recommend an upgrade. I hope I'm not the only person that this happened to, but the screws in the trigger sometimes come loose. This causes the gun to not fire. That is easily fixed with loctite though. The only other problem I've had was my ball detent. For some reason, it got stuck and wouldn't come back out, so I was feeding 1 and a half balls.... causing a lot of breaks. But otherwise they're great stock. Oh yeah, definately get a drop forward.

Yah, the stock ICD ball detents suck! I have a macdev one and it works flawlessly.
The two piece barrel looks promising. I agree with july; try it out first. Then decide if you need a new one based on its performance and your paint/barrel match.
Always put some locktite on your trigger and detend screws :)
