Just had my first opportunity to use my new J&J Edge barrel. Weather temps were in the mid-40's. My marker is a 2002 vertical feed autococker running CO2 w/bottomline and anti-siphon. I was using a batch of Proball - although previously unopened, they were about two months old.

The J&J Edge comes with 3 backs... a .688, .691 and .693... and a ported front. I have the combination which yields a 14" barrel. I began with the .691 back and watched the balls zinging anywhere but on target. I then switched to the .688 back and began shooting darts! As I write this, I wish that I'd measured distances. It seemed that I could hit most anything at will... if I missed on the 1st shot, it was there on the 2nd... and then stayed there. I can't wait to use this combination with better, fresher balls!!!

And quiet?!!! Such a relative term... but my marker seemed to make more noise than the barrel did.

Unfortunately, I can't compare this to any other barrels. This is a new marker and a new barrel... and the first use of this combination. I didn't even try the stock barrel in my excitement of "first use". But after several years of using rental equipment, it was quite a thrill to be able to hit what I shot at. "Fun" has just taken on a whole new meaning!!
