I want to know what do you think is a batter kit isnce the feild i go to constanly switches its paint and i want to keep up. I hear good things about the sticks but i hear the freaks inserts dent does that mean touching them dents them or droping it from a 1 inch hight dents them. I am realy confused on what to get since my friend has a jj kit and i wasnt to pleased with it.

thanks

It's gonna take a little bit more than dropping from an inch to dent a freak's insert...say rolling of a table onto a hard floor. But if you're careful it shouldn't happen.

Personally I would go with MacDev's Match Stick. They are nearly indentical to the CP 2 pieces which I absolutely adore.

Also how is the scepter kit or is it bad because of inserts.

My friend loves his scepter.

Had a MatchStik kit and absolutely loved it. Looks great and shot great. However, they're only in cocker threads, so unless you have a cocker-threaded gun, you can't use it.

Scepter is very nice as well. Never owned one, but I have shot one on multiples occations.

Of the 3 barrels, I would get either the MatchStik or Scepter. Either one, you can't go wrong.

I know a few peolpe who use Scepters...they love them. I have never heard anyone complain about a scepter cause of the insert.

I agree with Ice Marine. If you can use one, go with the match stik. You can find some of the older match stik barrels that will fit other markers, before they went to a/c only threading, but that would be a royal chore.
yeah, I'm not too big on the freak barrels either, mainly because of the inserts. I havent seen anybody using a scepter around here, so I dont have anything to go on with them.
and yeah...I like my J&J edge kit, but there are a few areas where it leaves me wishing for more. Especially when I am doing really slow shooting, it curves. (tho this field here doesnt use very smooth paint!)
I just ordered an Evil Pipe kit tonight. It's got a lot of really good reviews, and have heard from a couple of people that really like them. So that's something else that you might consider getting.

go with the scepter, tis like the freak, except a hundred times better, smoother finish, stronger inserts, and a better seam between the two pieces.

READ!!!

Hey, I would pick the matchstik by far... Well the freak is overall a pretty good barrel but if you read the reviews and my perosnal experience with it it's not as good as the others. Here's some things about each of them:

The Freak is a good barrel when your playing with it overall but it has a couple of bad features about it for one the inserts like yall all said, really it's annoying completley and it has a good material used on the barrel but there are some other ones that are better. And it's really really difficult to clean. It's over all a like 8.7 to me.

The Matchstik barrel is a 10 out of 10 to me for sure. It is dead on accuracy and looks good and more..... Then if you look at the company MacDev then come on they like do rigurious testing on all of there items... they have made the fastest gun ever ( 06 Cyborg )... and all of there products are awsome and the LegionAir Nitro/compressed air tank too. It has probably the best finish too. They have tested the barrel out for like 3 years and finnally came out with the Matchstik. It creates less friction and doesn't waste gas.

The Scepter and See i don't know much about it, i've heard of them and it was mixed opions but not in a like terrible way just they said it shoots good and stuff like that but they said that there is better out there.

Well look here are some need to know information about some barrels.

The finish makes a big part of the barrels performance.

Ceramic Barrels- They are overall good barrels there kinda expensive but not compared to other high performance barrels. And a cool thing about them is if you get a ball busted in your barrel then all you have to do is shoot a couple of shots and it gets out of it and there a good finsh too.

Aluminum Barrels- Light weight, cheap, and not that bad of performance (but get a good aluminum barrel or your performance will really suck.

Stainless steel- are the flip of aluminum: they are extremely durable and scratch resistant, keep honed very well, and have less friction. But they are also make for heavier and more expensive paintball barrels. They are hard to anodize, but tend to look good “as is”.

Flat Line- The flatline uses a rough texture to create backspin on the ball. So it's basically a rough texture. But a really good upgrade for your tippmann or any sniper kind of paintball gun.

Two-piece barrels: The right two-piece barrel can provide the best performance. A stainless steel back creates little friction during the paintball’s initial acceleration period, while an aluminum front can keep the paintball barrel’s weight down. However, two-piece barrels tend to be more expensive than other paintball barrels.

Right length for a barrel- The best barrel choice is 14 inches... Because If you get a 16 inch or above it actually doesn't improve any accuracy there the same as the 14 inch and a 16inch and above wastes gas and the only reason companys manufacture it is because players are willing to buy them. But, contrary to popular believe, longer barrels don’t increase a paintball’s range or accuracy.

In warm weather, gas from the tank expands faster, so you can get away with a shorter barrel.

In cold weather, gas needs more time to expand, so slightly longer barrels is better.

Low pressure systems accelerate paintballs more a little bit more slowly, so their barrels need to be longer.

Barrels with porting can be longer, but that just adds to the amount of gas they use up.

And longer barrels when your playing paintball make it sometimes difficult to move.

Those are just some things about barrels. Please post your reply's please with anything you might happen to say.

Don't double post, don't put the exact same thing in two different threads and don't up a dead thread. This guy has probably already made a decision. This was in early February, now it's late April.
