Since I've bought my first gun (Spyder), I've been using the 'look along barrel' method of aiming, which works half the time, but can be often inaccurate. How many of you use scopes, or have bought new *functional* sight rails? I'd like to have a sure-fire method of knowing where my ball will go, at least for distances under 50-75 feet. Please add where you bought your stuff from...

-- Another thing. Are there barrel shrouds with side sight-rails? The whole concept sounds 'out there' but it seems like something that would work...

try this out.. Get ur gun to were u think its purty close to the angle and all that then lean back and look at target keeping the gun in sight and let her rip. adjust the shots if needed but after a while it should be almost point and click. I dont use a "sight" or any thing like that, once u get playing some u will learn and get better at estamating ur shots. It will take some time but it isnt hard to do. looking around the berrel gets ur mind off of what ur tryin to do witch is hitting ur target. So try this and im sure u will c what im talking about. I dont use this all the time im damn good freehand.

actually what they say above is true....i basically know where my gun is going to shoot....ive shot it so much that i can pretty much hold it tucked in my arm and it will shoot exactly where my mind wants it too....guess it just grows on ya after a while

That is the the first time I have sworn after seeing a tricked out tippmann. Wow man, amazing job on that thing. I actually really like the paint job, did you do it yourself?

I used a daisy scope on my talon (kinda a joke i know...) but my Excellerator 4.0 has a vertical feed and the sight rail isnt high enough, if i could get a higher sight rail, id probably use it for "civil war"(no hopper) style paintball (hey- its fun and uses ALOT less paint). I agree with the comments that it "kinda grows on you" because you can be pretty accurate looking down the side of a barrel, and if you miss you just adjust accordingly. They need to make BB gun style sights, 2 points near the top, 1 at the center at the bottem of the barrel, just line up and shoot. Scope is a nice novelty but can get in the way, though its useful in certain situations.

Smart parts makes this "dot-sight" that u just clip onto the end of ur barrel.

It's in their 2002 catalog but here's a link http://www.smartparts.com/sphiviz.htm :)

wat i do sounds a little odd i know but its wat i do,, u keep both eyes open and use one eye to look down ur empty sight rail and one eye goes to whoever or whatever ur gonna shoot, itll get a little crazy but by lining the two images up, it works. just like those dye scopes or watever they'r called that just has a red dot in a black background,,, if u still need help use my method and paint the back of ur sightrail red or bright something to make it easier,,,, if ur confused about wat i just typed, im sorry, its the only way i know how to say it
that is a damn fine M98 by the way, first time im impressed by one
