I shot my shutter for the first time this weekend in warmer weather since I modified it. Everytime i would pull the trigger it would go full auto. I tried adjusting my regulator to a higher pressure to see if it would recock but it still went full auto everytime. Then I started to play with different main springs to see if they would help, nothing, still full auto. Any ideas as to why its doing this and how i can fix it. Read my sig. to see how my gun is set up.

Ive got an ANS Gen-x and ive had problems with full auto before, keep messing with the reg. It either needs breaking in or you have to find the sweet spot

I'm guessing the guage isn't all that accurate then, when i adjust it, the pressure changes, but yet the gun dosen't recock. How did you break it is, just keep it gassed up and adjusting it?

1. Hear any leaks?
2. Check the shiny brass screw on the bottem of the body, flush or all the way in?
3. What pressure are you running at?

1. No leaks, i checked everywhere, everything is air tight.
2. The brass screw that holds the valve in is flush with the bottom of the body.
3. I tried the reg at every pressure between 300-800 and it just goes full auto when i pull the trigger.

It only goes full auto for like 5-10 seconds then it just dosen't recock at all. It acts like it does when you run out of Co2 but i know thats not it because I filled my tank while i was trying to fix my marker.

I had the same problem with my Model 98, I had messed with the trigger springs and everytime i would pull the trigger it would go full auto, one time i had it 3 round burst then it would stop, but i just made a spring that was tighter then the one that was making it go full auto and it worked. I was chopping balls like crazy when i had it full auto to.

well got to go!

i kno wass wrong. if you
"modded" ur trigger and/or sear spring...they might be too light. most likely it is ur sear spring. this is da reason why ur gun is doing that:if your sear spring is topo light....the sear wont catch on your striker....causing the sear to slip off your striker and the striker hitting the valve, then the "blowback" pushes ur striker back, and it again, slips. then the process repeats. to fix this...cut a coil or two off of the springs.then it should work.

I thought about the trigger work causing the problem, but it worked for along time with the trigger how it was. I had the trigger shortened up a long time ago. I don't recall ever doing anything to the sear spring, but i am gonna go inside my trigger housing one of these days and check everything out. I guess i sorta ruled that out since it worked for so long with the trigger shortened but you could be right so i guess it won't hurt to look at it again.

try taking the reg off and screwing the tank into the ASA.....and see if it works......if so you know there is a problem with the regualtor......if not..it might be a spring problem....did you store your marker cocked....that can change the tension from the main sring...and not let it hit the valve pin hard enough.....any way that's how I would go about trouble shooting it......

also check you striker o-ring...for dammage....which can cause it to drag.....

looks like to me that the sear isnt catching-possibly if youve tried to modify the sear it may have gotten to the point where it wont recock during use. like ptflyer said, screw the tank directally into the asa and see what happens from there.

I had to do that once in a game and it worked fine, im prtty sre its a reg problem. So far im not 100 percent satisfied with my purchase of a gen-x. Hopefully itll be better with nitro

definately man, ans gen-x regs work a lot more efficiently with nitro, with co2, it isnt much more than telling you what your pressure is
