It might be ugly, but what if everybody judged a pball gun by what it looked like?!! The flatline cocker is the ugliest peace o **** i ever seen, but its performance is amazing. Same with the M98, and some of the classic mag setups. All of them still perform fine even thought the looks arn't the best!! THINK ABOUT IT!**

Dude, old school mags (68 mag) look pimpin, dunno what you mean by ugly
Skull

I don't mean old mags, i mean the automag classics... with those pos stock grips, no verticle setup, a pathetic stock barrel, and that feed mount thats like 5 in. long.... it the only gun that they didn't put they're pimpin cosmetics into.

The thing is, BE is a double-edged sword ... We're all bashing that POS Samurai, and none of us would buy one as our personal marker of choice, but, BE introduces more people to paintball than any other manufacturer. So, yeah, it's FUGLY as Sin, but a lot of people are playing because of them.

C'mon Ritchie ... it's made outta plastic, not Stainless Steel. it couldn't weigh more than two or three pounds.

I disagree, I think it'd be better for people to get into the sport through kingman or PMI than using a BE blade. All that plastic and I really dont think it would last very long. Maybe the raptor, but plastic is just asking for your gun to fall apart on you

No really it is like 7 paunds. They called it electronic at wall mart. It is like 100 bucks, and It is pretty strange feeling to hold. Trust me it is heavier than my gun with a 20 oz tank on it

el twitcho is right...kingman should really think about overmarketing the spyder compact. Its only like 85 bucks and its totally stock-nothing add on. But if newbies buy this gun and they use it a little bit, than they can upgrade to be just as good as and spyder, tl plus, se, shutter (just get a bunch of stuff that doesnt work..lol) and they dont have to waste money on a BE that will brake. I really think it would work, mabey they could lower the price of the compact to like 70-75 or something and i bet people would get that over a stingray

I believe ya Splat and Ritchie ... it's just hard to believe because my STS with a 24 oz tank weighs less than seven lbs ... who woulda thunk that a Plastic Buzzard would weigh so much.

Oh I know, it is crazy! I couldnt imagine it either, cause it is about the size of my alley cat. which is a little bigger than a pt enforcer with a longer barrel.

Don't know bout neone else out there, but when i first got into pball i couldn't have afforded a compact alone. I've got aloto friends that just don't have the money to buy a compact with a mask and hopper and co2 and all the other junk with it... the $100 package is great for some of the kids just gettin into the sport or for peeps that don't have there parents buy them everythin!! Mucks right without BE paintball wouldn't be half as popular or as wide spread as it is now...

If ya cant afford 100 bucks, that's what rental equipment is for. The majority of places rent stuff that's not quite top of the line, but I've never seen a place rent anything worse than a model 83 which is still a better alternative

Not wanting to incite a riot here, but not everyone who gets into paintball plays on a "Real Field" first. BE, as crappy as it might be, definitely deserves a little respect for getting people to play, and they probably play outlaw in their backyards or vacant lots near their home ... I'm fortunate enough to live in an area where there are about six or seven fields within an hours drive.
I can see what your saying about Spyders and PMIs being the entry level marker of choice, especially if you can put up the $100 for a marker, but that doesn't always include the mask, tank, hopper, and other stuff that usually comes in a package priced at $120 or more. Plus, most of the kids getting into paintball who go BE are younger than 13, don't have jobs and are reliant on Mom and Dad to get that first marker. And believe me, mom and dad would rather put out $100 for everything (BE package) than $120+ for a real marker, cause if their kid decides they don't want to play paintball, they ain't out that much money. And honestly, I think those BE marker packages for for a lot less than $100 on some Web sites.
So, try to put in perspective.

i thought spyder was opening up a cheaper line for the entry level player that is being sold at walmart...
ohyeah if you can't afford to spend 100 dollars on the gun mask and stuff maybe paintball isn't the right sport for you, i mean paintballs are cheapest 55 bucks (cheaper from internet but need to pay shipping) and if you're playing a couple times a month it can get pretty costly, i bought my gun and all the ugrades, i may have had a little help on my spring set.

Well you kinda have to think about what muck said. I agree that the crappy BE stuff is the worst out there, but it has had it's share of being beat up on for being a crappy intermiediate level marker. Give it a rest, we know that they suck, and personally I am kinda tired of hearing in every thread something about BE sucking(overexagerating) So if someone askes you if they should buy the marker, then tell them that BE isnt as upgradable, reliable, durable, comfertable, dependable as spyders, or tippmanns. But chill out with the constantly bashing on the company!
but that is just MY opinion

I agree that we have BE to thank for so many worthy opponents, but still, spyder or piranha should come out with a quality player pack for under a hundred. They could lower the price on the vtl player pack or something at least you can upgrade that and hang with the big boys. The compact is another good suggestion and should be scaled down to meet the needs of kids like my nephew. He's twelve and really wants to play. I keep catching him looking at BE on the net, but a compact is only ten bucks more. I told him I would give him my old 12oz and a mask if he got the compact. The stingray package reels in these kids cause the don't have money. PMI claims they are paint, well why don't they help get new players like young guns in the game. Spyder could help out a little too. Kids could also mow lawns or something, they could do their part.
