Looks like the Nerve community is quite small. I have an Ion now.. How do yall like the Nerve. It has been one of my favorite guns for awhile. How does it perform to other guns, and maybe even the Ion.. I have been looking at getting one for awhile, I might strongly look into it soon. How is the upgradability?

Well I just got mine, so I can't give you any information about long term stuff like reliability etc... But I can say it it light, tight, fast, and there a a few upgrades for it. The trigger frame is the same as a shocker, Impulse barrel and feedneck threads. Takes Shocker style boards. The stock drop and on/off are mediocre at best, but thats my opinion. The feedneck is sweet. The adjustability of the trigger is nice. Its pretty sweet. Easy to clean. and everything I have read says low maintenance, high reliablility. However, I also find that if your not tech savy breaking the gun down for teching can be rough (with the eyes especially) I got most of my infor on the reviews here (thats what they're there for) and on PBnation's forums.

Well, i just traded for a Nerve and I like it mroe than my friends DM5. although that is just preference. At my local field I purchased a virtue board. Ever since I can ramp over 30 bps. It is as accurate as I could expect. a little more accurate than an Ion with a Freak. It's trigger can be changed in to several angles. It is easy to adjust everything through the trigger and on-off switch once u get the virtue board. B4 that it was kinda a hassle for me. It is consistent enough 2 keep up with the insane rates of fire. and it requires very little maintenance. Although if you get one u will need a faster hopper. For example i had a halo and I had to get a Victory board, and a few mods b4 it would keep up. Well, from what i said make ur own decision.

I wonder why there are reviews. :dodgy:
They are much larger, thicker, and heavier than Ions. I would upgrade the Ion than rather spend $500 on a Nerve. You can get used Shockers for that price, with ups too.
There arent many ups for hte Nerve eithers. New boards, feednecks, barrels, that is pretty much it...

I'll give you the fact that they are larger by about 2 cubic inches all together. But the nerve is about the same weight though, you can't argue that. And if you think that is heavy just go 2 a gym. As for the Ion my opinion is that it is a cheaply made plastic(hard rubber) shocker, without the high quality. yea, it has ramping but to get your Ion to work as good as a nerve your gonna spend more than what the nerve would cost. I have an Ion and a Nerve, I've compared them (not just tryed using them for a game or two at a field like some people). Thats all im gonna say, I'm not gonna argue anymore like a freakin 2year old.

The nerve is awsome!!! i just got mine a month ago and it is tight. it shoots fast as hell, it is extremly accurate with the freak and is perfect in every way. it does 20+bps with ease, it is only 2.2 pounds and ive never had a problem yet.

As far as upgrades are concerned, part of the point of the Nerve was that it was "upgraded" out of the box, so is it any wonder that there aren't huge amounts of upgrades available? They aren't meant to be necessary.
However, having said that, there are more upgrades available than just boards, feed necks and barrels.
Add to the list regulators (standard bottle thread adapter), vertical reg mount, triggers (the Nerve takes Shocker triggers, so there are a variety available), frames (again, 2K3 Shocker compatible, so you can use all the Private label Shocker frames), any 45 grips, ball detentes, bolt (NDZ continue their support of Smart Parts markers in that respect), back plate, ram shaft and solenoid manifold.
So, if you really feel the need to upgrade it, there is quite a lot of scope available to you.

Straight up truth. I mean really, why do you need to up something if it doesnt require it? What is there to upgrade on a nerve? You can upgrage the reg, barrel, feedneck, trigger, board, the frame, pretty much everything on it.
