DM4
Nerves are madly upgraded and light Impys. DM4's are lighter, better, more upgreadble, and more quality.

DM4s are bigarse gas hogs compared to most any marker. A Nerve will get 950+ shoots stock from a 45/45 in comparsion. The DM4 is not any faster. Take the steel back off the Nerve, and its LIGHTER then the DM4(or 5). DM4s aren't anymore upgradeable then a Nerve. Prolly the other way around.
The Nerve is an amazing bargain at the current MAP.

I truly feel the Nerve is one of the most under rated markers out there, especially now at $475. Its easy for some to 'hate on' SPs for various reasons, so the Nerve hasn't experienced much love for that reason for sure.
Theres absolutely no truth to the Nerve being expensive or difficult to repair. Compared to what? A DM series? Also..it rarely breaks. We as a high end pro shop and wtih 2 authorized SP techs, and otherwise heavy(meaning markers of all makes)repair turnover, rarely EVER do I see a Nerve come in(like 2 in the past year?). I bet we always have a DM series in for repair for whatever reason. I've seen countless come tho in comparison. Shockers and Ions too. Now for sure some of the reason is theres just not as many Nerves out there, but theres enough(the last one I checked going out was like serial #4000+). Remember, most here that are talking about this and that being better, are just repeating what they read. They haven't even used a Nerve prolly. I personally have used one for 140,000+rds since Dec 04. Thats 70 cases. I've had ZERO problems to date. Zero. Not even an oring. I've had the ram assembly out ONE time(and that was just 6 weeks ago), and even then it was just to swap out the original pre-delrin ram(mine was #288, which had the inferior all steel ram)for a free current ram assem. Even then it wasn't nessessary. It was doing just fine. Just make sure to keep the rear rams surface area lubed, maybe about every other case. Dats all I've done. I can even say its been my most relaible marker in 23yrs of play.
Also the weight thing... I JUST weighed the 06 Ego compared to a Nerve(CP reg, Unimount ASA, Freak alum back and insert). BOTH are exactly 2lb 10oz ready for tank and hopper. And most say an Egos light...
We also stock Ego's, Timmys, Black Magics, yada yada. The Nerve keeps up just fine with them thank you very much. If your a capable player, the Nerve can do the job just fine.
Hell, its hard to modify an Ion full fledge for $475. And then its still just an Ion...

The price of nerve's just went to like 475 so i say go for the nerve just because of that. Also there lighter, smaller and by personal preference i just like them more.

i just thought of something if the nerve is so good then why is it really cheap compared to what it was

Because SP made a mistake in how they came out with the Nerve, or so thats what im told. They killed the sales of the Nerve because the shocker was still the rave. Not to mention the DM's have been coming out with better guns each year. I have a Nerve and i say get that. It is cheaper about half the price of most DM's. I would also have to say it performs about the same. Also i think SP may have another gun they have kept from the public that may be the reason they are selling off the Nerves just like they did the Impulses b4 the Ion. Just a thought though.

Get The Nerve!!! I Just Got One A Month Ago And It Works Like A Dream. It Is Upgradable But You Really Dont Have To. 20+bps With Ease 2.2 Pounds, Freak Barrel. It Is Perfect. The Best $475 I Have Ever Spent

However, 2.2 pounds does not include all the accessories. Weight of the stock marker, including Max-Flo inline, steel backed Freak, LPR expansion chamber, angle drop and on/off ASA, is 3lb 0.5oz.
It's a great deal for $475, and there are upgrades available if you want them.
You can change the regulator (standard bottle thread adapter), vertical reg mount, triggers (the Nerve takes Shocker triggers, so there are a variety available), frames (again, 2K3 Shocker compatible, so you can use all the Private label Shocker frames), any 45 grips, ball detentes, bolt (NDZ continue their support of Smart Parts markers in that respect), back plate, ram shaft and solenoid manifold.
So, if you really feel the need to upgrade it, there is quite a lot of scope available to you.

Get a Nerve. Half the price of the DM4 and a great performer. I absolutely love my Nerve. The prices dropped because they are coming out with a new model of it, or so a friend told me. He knows people in Smart Parts. The prices are also expected to drop again in a few weeks, so I'd say go with the Nerve.

Nerve...you don't need to upgrade it, hence the point of it...

This is a nerve forum so some of these things are biased

Every forum will have a tendency to be biased towards the marker it represents. That's only natural.
