Anodizing/Power Coating

Can you do fades with power coating or do you have to do something else? Also what is the advantage of anodizing over power coating? And the last question is what exactly is anodizing?

Annodizing is a chemical staining on aluminum. Aside from some possible decorative options, it's also a slightly protective layer. Since you're in a tippmann thread, I'm assuming you have a 98. 98s can't be annodized. It's cast aluminum. I don't really know anything about powder coating, aside from the fact that I don't like what it looks like.
