The S2 will be more difficult to find than a ceramic. If you really have your heart set on the S2, you can get it directly from J&J for $48, or try froogle.

It's out of stock, but First Call Paintball has the S2 for $35. Like Kowz said though, the S2 isn't widely available--even when I looked on www.froogle.com

I have had the same results. I have been searching for an S2 and have not found many for a spyder, not even ebay.
My questions are these...
I decided on the j&j one peice ceramic, where have you guys found is the cheapest?
Also, what barrel is this?

I looks like a mix of a 2 piece and a 1 peice ceramic. Is it an older version of the newer j&j 2 piece? Is that price a good price for it? thanks.

the barrel looks to me like an Edge kit, made by J&J, its odd they are only selling one back, but its a great price if it really is.
the best price for the ceramic is here

I think i figured it out. Im pretty sure that it is the full tilt ceramic barrel at .688 bore size. Im going to get it. I use medium paint. Hope that the smaller size isnt a factor.
I found a place that sells the one piece ceramic of 27.95 http://www.paintballadrenaline.com/v3/product.php?productid=566

the full tilt doesnt have the straight tip. It uses a diamond shaped tip, or in plain english, one that flares o u t wards at the end.
I'm inclined to agree with soccerjacks. It looks like an Edge kit tip, with a non-standard OEM back. (the Kit backs aren't that long or that finish, but J&J does sell (through resellers) ones that are.
And yeah, the S2's are hard to find. Ebay would be your best bet, for less than 49 bucks.
Edit- awwww Dammit! why the heck is ou tw ar ds a freaking censored word??????

That's the photo of the Full-Tilt in the review section. It certainly looks to be the one on eBay.
soccer: Don't worry about eBay. It's been an almost flawless money saver for me.

I got my barrel from ebay and it is exactly like the picture that you showed me. What the seller told me is that it is the full tilts old model. The newer model flares out but the old ones are straight like the ceramic one piece. I hooked it up and shot a few threw it...straight as an arrow, quite as a mouse (compared to stock)
Oh and nice find on the $34 froggle S2!:D

Yeah, after you put it like that, it sparked a memory of me and Spy (least I think it was spy.....) having a disagreement about that a while back. Him posting the pic of the older model shoulda made me remember tho. :(
Anyways, hopefully this time around, I will remember that the older models looked like tips of the Ceramic! :banghead:
But really glad that you are liking it. Sounds like you got a really good buy :)
lol it's always surprising to me, to hear somebody refer to a J&J as quiet tho. Especially the way that you had put it. I've heard that the full-tilts and the s2's were less loud than the Ceramic was. But I've never been around anybody that had one, to hear it shoot. I know that the Ceramic on my captain's old LED Angel sounds more like a shotgun. About a 20 guage with a mild load. And my Edge on my TES sounds about like my 9mm beretta with hot loads. (except when I am shooting fast. It looses volume, but picks up accuracy under high ROF for some odd reason.....)

Hmm, Darke, I don't rememeber anything like that, but I could have forgotten. What I didn't know for sure is that the new Full-Tilts have a different tip.

Like I said, its quite compared to the stock barrel. Down at the field there are lots of barrels that are quiter. But for me this is good enough. I haven't had time to use it on the field, but target practice has been good.

Spy- it had been a while back. Like 2-4 months ago. I just remember debating with somebody about whether a barrel was a full-tilt, or whether it was a different barrel.
yeah, they redesigned the Full-Tilt, when they redid the Edge tips. Here's what the new Tilt looks like http://www.jjperformance.com/ceramic2.html
and the new Edge tips- http://www.jjperformance.com/fronts.html
see...thats part of what had me messed up, was that I didnt know that there had been an Older design of the Full-Tilt. The only ones that I had ever seen were the new ones.
Shlurpee- J&J makes really good barrels. Especially for the price. I dont think that you will be disappointed with it at all on the field ;)
Just make sure that you use good paint with it.
Like I said, the ones that I have heard have been loud. But...that doesn't bother me at all, except for my captain's. His will leave my ears ringing sometimes, hahaha.
