How do I get the pin valve (the whole thing) off my co2 tank? I need to take it off to get my Anti-Siphon on, but its got like locktite on it for sure.

first, make sure ALL of the co2 is out of the tank
you really should let an experienced airsmith do this, the guy who fills your co2 should be able to do it.
and the loc-tite prolly needs to be heated with a torch or something to be loosened.

well, i was gonna let a "experienced airsmith" do it but they guy at the "paintball shop, that sells nothing but BE" has not much of a clue about paintball...but he has worked on fire extinguishers and stuff related, hes also a jacka$s, he trys to rip you off every which way. SO my dad said "you should be able to do more of a better job then him, i'm sure you know more about paintball then he does." which is true, i do know more about paintball...but then again I could let the airsmith do it and possibly put the anti siphon in the wrong way....
We have loctite here and teflon tape...and the wrenches and stuff...so you think I should do it?
All i really need to know is how to get the valve off (yes the tank is brand new and it is empty) Should i wrap the tank in a sock, put it in a vice (not too much pressure or it could rupture the tank) then take a torch heat the valve up, then take a wrench and unscrew the thing off?
Then put loctite on the threads, and screw the anti siphon in.
also should i put teflon tape as well on the threads,
Or is this totally a bad idea all together?
thanks again.

You seriously should get an airsmith to do it. Ship it, if you have to. You are definitly not qualified to put on an entire valve assembly. Something WILL go wrong.

Ah...yeah...
I put an anti siphon on mine no problem. Just viced it with two pads on each side, blow torched it and gave a little twist. I'm not exactly a competant airsmith either... If I can do it, I'm sure you can.
Also, make sure you mark the tank first before you put on the tube. It should face upwards when you shoulder your marker. If you didn't get the 98 yet, wait until it arrives before you mess with the tank.

Get someone trained to work with compressed gasses to remove and reattach the valve. You can probably install the tube, but if your not trained to work with compressed gas... DON'T!
DO NOT heat your tank unless you know EXACTLY what your doing... heat weakens metal.
One of these days, someone is going to blow themselves (and/or others) to kingdom come and the sport will suffer. Don't do work you're not trained to do... is it really worth risking your life to save a couple of dollars?

Thanks man, i'll prolly do it but i'll ask my pop about it too, he used to work around propane and all those tanks, installing fittings and stuff, I'm sure i can do it myself.

My impression was that the pin-valve assembly had to be torqued to a certain specification. Unless you have the equipment and data for that, it could be a problem.
Heating your tank... are you out of your mind?

you dont heat the tank, you heat the valve, which melts the loctite.

Heating the tank...why not? Mine is perfectly fine. I got instructed by a proshop owner with 13 years of experience...he's done alot of tanks.
We are talking co2 tanks here...
