What's your gun setup?
Is your tank full?

What are you adjusting? Does your A5 have a rear vel. adjuster?

If you keep an A5 in the cocked position for an extended period of time (or even if you didnt, the spring might just be old) the spring can become decompressed and weaker. Try replacing the drive spring with a new one.
I think you can get new springs from Tippmann, Maddmann (dont think theyre still around), or maybe the hardware store.

Are you using Co2 if so when you tried to adjust your FPS was it right after a fresh fill. Reason tank might have been to cold not enough gas. Also what was the weather like again same reason. Also check the other things that have been posted like the drive spring. But the way your post read sounds like either way you turned the velocity adjuster your FPS was droping. Does sound like a low tank.

It is a bone stock A5 with an HPA tank and yes the tank was full.
The marker is only about 2 weeks old but this guy decided he like spyders better so he sold it to me for $100
oh about about the spring thing I kinds figured that it might wear out so after that day of play I took it out and put it in may part box intill next game day, but I don't know it he left it in the cocked or un cocked position for those 2 weeks

I just got a used custom, and the first thing I did was open it up for a thorough cleaning.
I would imagine some dirt/paint in there would affect your velocity...
