With a Tippmann. The guy at the paintball store said it wasn't but the tank will be horizontal so I disagree. Either way they wanted $30 to put an antisiphon in, he said 'cause the newer threads on the co2 tanks are difern't and he'd have to put on/off valves on them also. $30 into a $19 tank? Isn't worth it.

Sounds BS to me...

Antisiphon is a little copper tube that they stick on the end of the valve and bend upward relative to the marker's ASA. IIRC, the tubes arent threaded at all.

I know what an antisiphon is and I figured for $15 it could only help, but he said liquid co2 doesn't phase Tippmanns. ???? The tank is horizontal, the gun is going to get liquid co2 and the velocity is going to be inconsistent right? I don't understand why i'd need on/off valves installed also in order to get antisiphons installed. ???????? Especially when the drops have on/off's already. I got 3 Tippmanns and tanks that I needed done. Either way i'll find out 'cause i'm paintballing before the end of the day and tomorrow. I have 3 x-chambers so i'll put those on my self next week rather than spend the $50 each for Tippmann x-chambers.

Just something to note, I've found that screwing a tank directly into a vertical adapter works atleast 5x better than the default horizontal set up. It leaves the tank vertical, keeping the liquid down until too much freezes. Though I admit I have not used an anti-siphon.

That would work but it would be very awkward to have a vertical 20 or 16oz tank. I'm inside and still shooting a little snow so I guess the guy was full of sheit.

Never do business with him. He's lying to you to try and make some extra $$. An anti-siphon isn't necessary, but it does help the performance of the A-5. He was lying to about the threads. They have never changed, and an on/off isn't required. It doesn't take long to put an A/S tube in. He's trying to rip you off.

it'm not that hard to do yourself just order a kit of off ebay for like 5 buck total and all you really need is a vise and you can do it

but definately make sure your tank is empty before you have ANY work done on it!
