Ok I was at a large game yesterday (red dawn, hell of a lot of fun to) and they where using polar ice. It surprised me that a paint I was told to be good was giving everyone so many issues, as a lot was breaking in the barrels (I used my J&J ceramic and my stock polished a5 barrel, same results). My first thought was that polar ice could just be a large bore size, but checking its at 0.689 which dose not seam to big as there are many brands with larger then this. It was about -1 degrees (Celsius, I am in Canada Eh) which is not that cold a day at all. I have also had the idea that maybe it was actually to warm a day to be using polar ice, as -1 relay is not that cold. It’s just cold enough to freeze water, but defiantly played in a lot lower temp. So hey anyone know why so many people (and I mean at least 90% of 400 people) where having issues with the paint.

I think they are meant to be played in cold weather, but not THAT cold. Dang man.......-1
Straight off of their website:
" Don’t let the weather determine the beginning and ending of your paintball season – extend it year-round no matter what old man winter dishes out. Polar Ice® is specially formulated to withstand the rigors of cold weather. If you can take it, Polar Ice® can dish it out! Recommended for use in temperatures ranging from 30 – 45 degrees Fahrenheit. Fire up your game…shoot Polar Ice®"

You know -1 C is 30 F
Sounds like a bad batch.

Omegaboy13I did very specificaly say -1 C not F :) . Ya they had skids of the stough and majority had issues. So thats one big bad batch then.

Ive heard that Polar Ice dosnet hold up to the cold weather too good, but I guess 90% of 400 is proof enough. Ive had great results with artic inferno in the cold. We plated a xmas game in about 20F and My ion and J&J didnt break a ball and my buddys spyder only broke 1. the other 2 guys we went with rented and probably only broke about 6 or so combined. out of the 3 cases we shot that day only 7 balls isnt bad.

I used both arctic inferno, and polar ice this winter. Arctic inferno came out on top as far as chops. They both flew great, but a couple people had some problems with chops using them vs. no people at all having any problem with the arctic inferno. It was 24-30 degrees F when we were playing.
A bunch of people brought out some regular (non- cold weather) paint. I had never seen so many people chopoing so much paint. It made me happy that I had put a little extra money down for the cold weather stuff.

It might have just been old paint, or a bad batch. It does happen.

I have had the same problems. The weather was between what RPS says and everyone was breaking paint. That is the last time I use it. I like the RPS Premium for warm weather but cold weather I am going to try artic inferno
