I had a simular question and decided for me the RAT was the best. As for why it was a simple decision based on 2 things.
1) I loved the way it looked it was imho the best looking impy out there.

2) More important to me it was the best bang for the $$ you just can't beat the price and honestly the service either.

those Rat imps are really growing on me, those are pretty sweet. i like the demonic and freak factory imps alot too . . . freak factories have been out for a while, which is one reason i like them alot.

do they still even make the FF's? I thought i read somewhere that they had stopped producing them... I think i will go with a RAT or a Demonic.. I knida like the look of the demonic. But looks isn't everything.

p.s. Why does every ^almost^ impulse have a matte finish? Can't anybody do a shiny one?

Smart Parts is makeing new production Freak Factory guns. There may be some very small changes, but they will be new production guns not "left overs" from the orginal 300 gun batch.

The resion most of the custome Impulse are bmatt finish is simple-- speed to market. We are on our second batck of Rats (blast finish) and we still don't have the first guns we ordered in high polish finish. I have fokes that have been waiting a LONG time for the ROS guns, and I can't honestly tell you yet when they will be done (we are at the mercy of the polisher and anodizer)

Of course the other consideration is cost. At least in the case of the Rats, we are trying to offer the best "bang for the buck" we can offer. Remember we have to buy all of our good stuff (and pay for it) and have it sent to SP so it can be anodized to match. That means we have a good deal of mony invested in a custom MONTHS before the actual guns is ready for sale. Add the addital cost of polishing and the additional time involved, and you are efectivly rasing the cost of the product.

We are doing glosy guns-- just have to wait for then to make it thru the system.

I like the Eclipse, Demonic, and Toxic Impulse guns. They all have some serioes milling and Anodizing, but I don't really know what the internals are like.

IMHO, I just don't like electro guns in general.

It's obvious fact that it's the Demonic Impulse. First off, it's extremely milled to be a lot ligther then the other Impulses. Second off it's got custom casted titanium internals that are lighter and stronger, meaning faster cycling(more BPS) and less wear on the body. The vision upgrade keeps it from chopping the paint. The only thing that i question is the lack of a voodoo free flow(if you get one, you may wanna ask) but i doubt it is needed because the soleniod needs less air to move around the internals. Anywho, after that the RATpulses own, they got a look and all the parts that put impulse in the top of there game. If i got a RATpulse i would order the titanium internals from the Rough Necks though. No, I do not have an Impulse, I have an Intimidator which i've been trying to get titanium internals forever to increase cycling.

What is the big craze of titanium? You can only go so light and then it becomes too light, the Rat was researched to the point that if FOM thought Titanium would provide an increased benefit, they would have been in Rats from the begining. Wait till you see the finished ROS Rats, you will be sorry if you bought anything else.

I am going with Walt to Smart Parts tomorrow, we will be bringing Rats home Late friday night, The Blue gray and black are in for sure, Walt said the Team Rats are not ready yet, but didnt mention the ROS, call FOM tomorrow after 11 eastern, thats the best way, he gets almost 300 e-mails a day, and thats hard to keep up with, especially if you miss one day
