I am planning on getting a Nerve once I have the money. I have a HP tank. Does the Nerve have to have a LP tank or can I use my HP tank?

An HP air system should work fine with the Nerve's stock inline regulator.

I have the same question since i am looking into a nerve, but what is the difference between the performance of the Nerve with a hp and a lp tank?

No difference - the Max-Flo vert reg supplied with the Nerve will drop the pressure from the air system (around 450psi from the LP, 850psi from the HP) down to the 200-280psi that the Nerve requires to function correctly. SP make no recommendation as to whether an LP or HP output is better for the Nerve.

ZDS paintball, run by Andy, mentions that the Nerve "Operates with any preset tank using an output above 600-psi".

It will work with an LP tank *as long as it has a fast re-charge rate and high flow*, and the operating pressure is set to 250psi or below (Smart Parts state that the average is 230psi). This is assuming that the tank has output pressure of 450psi. If the tanks performance is not up to scratch, then yes, an HP output tank would be a better bet.

Quite right. Although it's also true that the only guns that need an LP tank are a few types of Angels using their mini-reg. If not for any other reason I suggest using an HP tank just for compatability with other markers.
